  • Getting better and better.

    9.2
Getting better and better. Main reason why I watch this show, this episode you learn a lot. Inuyasha older brother took the sword from him cause of the human arm he got from naruku. We also learn of the monk weakness to his air void and that poisoness bee hive, wants they get into his air void they can poison him. The monk was no doubt shock by this but anyway the naruku did put the curse on his family so he would know the secret to his weakness. Kogame you will see new power from her which she uses her arrow to knock the transformation of the sword inuyahsa older brother was using.moreless
  • Sesshomaru returns with a vengence... and a left arm capable of wielding the Tetsusaiga.

This one is definitely one of best in season 1. Not only is Sesshomaru a really evil villain and clever one at that, but there's plenty of laughs in this one too. Like in the scene at the tavern where the gang was staying the night, the little back-and-forth conversations between Inuyasha and Miroku, and those going on after the fact is almost too much to take, I was laughing so hard. Listening to Inuyasha's tone, you can tell it's early on the series cuz he sounds like age 14 instead age 17 in this one. There's also so many of those "moments". Like Sesshomaru with his evil smile and he's laughing... then Inuyasha's laughing and you actually see him sweat in fear. It's crazy. This ep. is just full of surprises, especially what happens in the end.moreless
  • Sesshomaru, is back.

    8.1
Sesshomaru, is an extramly cool and powerful;l cahrector, it is a shame he losess his arm, but all is not lost with the new arm Naraku gives him Sesshomaru can now weild the sword of his dreams, Inuyashas tetsusiega. And with amsing results too. Though Naraku plays little part in this episode, it marks the beginiong os Sesshomaru becoming a recuring cahrector.
  • And intrigueing episode...

    8.5
Very intrigueing... extremely hilarious, Inuyasha especially has some choice lines when talking to Miroku. Ahh, everything is as it should be.

The part where Sesshomaru and Naraku first meet is extremely tempting, you have to find out more instantly. I do not personally like either character but it got me hooked, it was not one of those episodes that I can pause at any point, I had to keep watching. Very commendable, to do that with the plot starring two characters that I do not like.

I love it when the villains team up, huge bonus. Inuyasha finally shows some of his feelings, very sweet! Sesshomaru's arm was pretty gross, but that can't really be helped, its all part of the plot.

I like how we get to see some more effects of the powers of the Shikon jewel, tainted or not, that was pretty amazing you have to admit.

So, great episode, definetly watch it if only for the choice comedy lines.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • The demon Sesshomaru was riding on, the Shadow Demon, is the same type of demon as seen in the episode "Aristocratic Assassin, Sesshomaru".

    • This is the first appearance of Naraku.

    • This is the first time we see the Wind Scar successfully executed.

    • Sesshomaru is missing his left arm, and any replacements would have to be left arms. So why does Naraku offer him a RIGHT arm? (You can tell it's a right arm by the way the palm is facing.)

Answer: In the manga, Sesshoumaru lost his right arm instead of his left. The Manga was flipped to make it easier to read, so Sesshomaru did lose his left arm.

Answer 2: The arm that Naraku gave Sesshoumaru is the left hand. Look at where the thumb is at. The wrist is probably twisted. If you look at the joint it is facing left , whereas the left arm's joint faces right.

    • When Kagome is aiming her arrow at Sesshomaru, her left foot wasn't colored in, making it look like it wasn't there. You have to look closely or you won't see it

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Kagome: I'm sensing a jewel fragment nearby, and it's approaching us very quickly.
Inuyasha: Oh, well that's a change. We've never had them bring us the jewels before!

    • Inuyasha: (to Miroku) Whenever we're looking for a place to bed down, you suddenly detect an ominous cloud hanging over whatever seems to be the finest tavern in the area. How is that?

    • Inuyasha: The guy suddenly has a big sword to swing around and now he wants a soapbox to stand on and preach to the whole world.

    • Inuyasha: Let me give you a little piece of advice now that I have your attention: If you're going to kill someone, make sure you do it right the first time. Because if you only maim them the first time, they have a nasty way of coming back to make you regret it.

    • Kagome: Go Miroku, you're the best! Oh yeah, and you too, Inuyasha.
Inuyasha: Gee, thanks. I could tell it was from the heart.

    • (After stepping in front of Inuyasha)
Miroku: I must put an end to this foolish sibling rivalry.
Inuyasha: Hey! I want to stand in front!

    • Inuyasha: She really is the reincarnation of Kikyo.

    • Miroku: If the demon is truly large, then we are no match for it. It's irrational, it's impossible, it's against my religion.
Inuyasha: You ought to be arrested.
