Finally information about the the two swords tetsasiga and tenseiga. They started walking down a path, and kogame was sad that she lost the jewel shards to kykio. Inuyasha said that its ok dont worry about it, than totosai appears from the sky with lightning with myroki the flea. And he said that he made that sword and wanted to see what inuyasha can do with it. After seeing what he can do with the sword he said that he didnt deserve the sword and ask him to give it back. sesshoaru appears with a dragon arm and wants to take tetsasiga from inuyasha.moreless
  • The introduction of Totosai, the swordswith that forged Tetsusaiga. He finds Inuyasha to test his worth while seeking protection from someone who demanded a sword stronger than Tetsusaiga: who is none other than Sesshomaru.moreless

This ep. has it all. It's hilarious, there's plenty of action, not to mention it shows more into Sesshomaru. It begins with Myoga telling Totosai about Inuyasha while he goes to see him. All kinds of calminities ensue when Sesshomaru looks for Totosai to forge him a sword to rival Tetsusaiga. In all of his scenes in this particular ep, you get to see more of his personality. In the beginning, Jaken tells him that his track-record is like a death-sentence and Sesshomaru does an open mouth smile... talk about scary. Then in his fight with Inuyasha, just the way David Kaye delivers his dialogue is beyond brilliant. From the calming way he says "Totosai" to the sarcasm he uses after striking Jaken with Tenseiga, "get up Jaken, you're fine." How can anyone not like Sesshomaru at least a little in this ep?

Totosai's also quite a character, constantly agreeing/disagreeing with Sesshomaru and being absent-minded (the roast scene is my favorite).

And finally, we get to hear about Sesshomaru's sword that he never uses... but in the next ep, he discovers its true purpose.moreless
  • Quite a good episode for the funny lines.

Very nice episode, above average on my list. This has some excellent lines! Plus its intriguing learning more about Tenseiga and Tetsuiga, very fact fullfilling.

Totosai, man, what a laugh that guy is! Pair him and Myoga up and you have got a walking stand-up comedy act, they are hilarious. What a handful, an old guy who gets his wires crossed all the time and sometimes appears to not know left from right. Yet, despite all this, he hides his skills well and is an excellent fighter. Great scripting for him, really superb.

Jaken in this episode is very comedic, excellent lines. Sesshomaru in this episode is very well done as well, normally I don't like him so much but here he's well placed and very well done. Erm, not quite like a steak, you get my meaning though.

Kagome is an accentuating touch to Totosai, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru combat each other very well. Miroku and Sango in this episode, not so great given the fact that they barely appear but oh well.

On the whole, watch it if you need a great laugh.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Richard Ian Cox (Inuyasha's voice actor) mispronounces the name of Sesshomaru's sword when he says the title of the episode? It's Ten-sei-ga, not Ten-sai-ga.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Shippo: That smells good!
Totosai: A well roasted pig indeed. Lets dig in folks!
(Totosai swallows the whole roast in one gulp)
Inuyasha: Hey! Don't eat the whole thing, pig!
Totosai: Huh? Where'd the roast go?
Kagome: It's in your greedy gut!
Totosai: Where am I right now? Who are you people?
(Miroku hits Totosai on the head with his staff)

    • Sesshomaru: Inuyasha, why have you conspired with Totosai to plot against me?
Totosai: Because you happen to be evil incarnate!

    • Kagome: (talking about Totosai) No wonder he's pals with Myoga. They're both real pros with the innocent bystander act!

    • Jaken: You can't blame him for not liking you. Your resume is one long death wish! (Looks at Sesshomaru) Ah-h-h-h!!! You're smiling! (bowing furiously) Please don't smile at me, Master Sesshomaru, please get angry! You're always much harder on me when you're passive aggressive! (to himself) I think I just shortened my life by about 100 years.

    • Inuyasha: Huh, yeah right. That old fart is full of it!
