The episode preview was narrated by Inuyasha and Koga.
In a sense, Koga and Ayame are both telling the truth. Koga did say he'd marry her, but no real promise was ever made.
The flower in Ayame's hair is a blue iris.
The first flashback shows Ayame and Koga both very young, but in the second flashback Koga has aged considerably and his voice has changed.
Koga: That's what I don't understand. What would force Naraku to abandon his castle and run away?
Inuyasha: Heh! You wanna know the truth, wolf? It's because I busted through Naraku's barrier with the Tetsusaiga! (Koga gasps) Shocked at my strength? Well, you should be.
Koga: You mean you got that close to Naraku...and you let him get away from you? How stupid can you get!
Ayame: I don't like this! Your name sounds just like mine.
Kagome: (thinking) Only the final syllable--'me'.
Ayame: You little hussy!
