  • In this episode, we see more emotion than we've seen so far in the series. It's all quite touching and cute. =)

    9.6
I really like this episode. So full of emotion, and things that we usually don't see from Inuyasha. If i recall correctly, this is the first time that we see Inuyasha show any impression that he likes Kagome. Most of the time he hides it with his tough-guy attitude, but in his human form, he's more open about it....not open enough to flat out say that he likes her, but just enough to give little hints that he does. I understand why Kagome is a bit shocked when he does this, because he's usually trying to show no affection whatsoever to her, and that is just completely lost in this episode. It's quite cute, really.moreless
  • A great look at an emotion-ridden InuYasha.

    9.9
Yes, there are somethings about the episode that bother me, like any episode. I did not the face of InuYasha hanging upside down, it looked very akward and chubby to me. But with any downfalls there is upsides. This is the first episode we get to see with a semblance of a relationship other than mere "Jewel-detecor" between InuYasha and Kagome. Shippo tries very hard to stand up and take place, failing miserably while doing so. But the true beauty of this episode is InuYasha's emotions. He is normally the strong one that everyone runs to if anything is wrong, but he has to deal with not being able to be that person. It is a really wonderful thing to see. A must see for an InuYasha fan of any kind.moreless
  • Kagome suggests helping deal with a spider demon, assuming that Inuyasha would like to take him on. However, there's one thing she wasn't counting on...

This ep was the first time that Inuyasha is seen as a human. It definitely shows a whole new side to him. I've heard quite a bit about this particular one, so I couldn't wait to see it.

While I thought that Shippo and Kagome would be more shocked about "Black-haired Inuyasha", everything else was really cool in the episode. Especially during that little moment he and Kagome had while they were in that little room and had that cute little talk. Not to mention Inuyasha hinted starting to like Kagome.

I also noticed that when he was back to normal in the end, he was back to his old self: pushy and angry. Leading me to think, maybe he's nicer when he's in human form... still a great ep. worth waiting for.

Actually, the first time I saw "black-haired" Inuyasha was in "Howling Winds of Betrayal" and then I was totally confused as to what was going on. I simply had no idea that that was part of being a half-demon... pretty cool though. I love "origin" episodes where I find out about "this is the first time that...", that kind of thing.moreless
  • My favorite episode so far!!

This episode really is exactly why I watch this series. It shows not only InuYasha's weakness (I guess its really his day of weakness) but it also shows a whole different side of him, possibly his true self, sweet and caring. InuYasha and Kagome get a lot closer in this episode. InuYasha becomes human and seems to really like Kagome, instead of insulting her, he tells her that she smells nice and that he really likes her... its sooooo sweeeet!!!! I havnt seen any episodes past the 1st season, but I definently will see more, to see what becomes of InuYasha and Kagome!!moreless
  • Inuyasha looks good with black hair ^-^. So he loses his human powers...that ain't that bad...I think...^-^ We'll...it isn't all that bad...he just loses his superhuman strength...alright fine...it's BAD!

It's pretty well known that on a new moon, Inu-Yasha assumes a full human form where his hair becomes black hair, his eyes brown (violet in the manga), and his Tetsusaiga will no longer transform for him. But few realize that the opposite is true: that under the right conditions Inu-Yasha can assume a full youkai form. This is because of Tetsusaiga. Since it can supposedly only be held by someone with human blood, it acts as a restraint against Inu-Yasha assuming his youkai form. But when Tetsusaiga is broken by Goshinki, that form comes uncorked…and to see Inu-Yasha in that rampaging form is absolutely scary.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • This is the first time in the series that we see Inuyasha with black hair, and we also find out that he is more vulnerable and has to deal with human emotions.

    • It is interesting that though there was no moon, and it wasn't dawn yet, there was light that was piercing through the window during the romantic moment in the confined room.

  • QUOTES (15)

    • Nazuna: Your countenance seems altered. Has you hair not changed?
Inuyasha: Hmph, it isn't easy being human, believe me.

    • Kagome: (to Myoga) Seeing you here must mean we have a good chance of winning this battle. Otherwise, you'd be long gone.
Myoga: I'm not certain I approve of the insinuation.

    • Shippo: (to himself) Now that Inuyasha has been rendered a mere mortal, I shall have to take over protecting the others. I'll have to summon all of my courage. (hears a noise in the bushes, freaks out and runs over to the others)
      Shippo: Someone save me!

    • Myoga: Why, Master? Why did you not inform us that your period of vulnerability was impending?
Inuyasha: Because if I had, you would have taken off a long time ago.
Myoga: (upset) Have you not a wit of trust in me?
Inuyasha: Yeah, I trust you to run away when there's trouble!

    • Myoga: (after helping Inuyasha) Nice to meet ya, I'm Myoga. Always a beast, but never a burden.

    • Nazuna: You'll always be in my prayers, Inuyasha
      Inuyasha: (while waving) Whatever!

    • Kagome: Inuyasha, I hear what you're saying, but I just wish you would have opened up to me more, as a friend. (starts crying)
Inuyasha: Hey, wait! I'm the one who's supposed to be down!
Kagome: If it weren't for your foolish pride we wouldn't be in this situation. You're gonna pay for this big time, pal! Grab a brain would ya, you dough head!
      Inuyasha: You're the dough head!

    • Kagome: Inuyasha, what are the chances that we could be back by Saturday?
Inuyasha: Uh, fair to moderate if we're lucky.
      Kagome: Oh, great!
Inuyasha: What exactly was this Saturday of yours again?
Kagome: (sighs) I should have known.

    • Kagome: Inuyasha? Is that you?
Inuyasha: No, I'm a talking puppet!
Shippo: (sits on Inuyasha's head) His dog ears are gone!
Kagome: You're not half demon anymore, you're human!
Inuyasha: (grabs Shippo and slams him to the ground) You're lucky my fangs and claws are gone too!

    • Kagome: I know what's going on here!
      Inuyasha: Huh?
      Kagome: You're afraid of spiders!
Shippo: (transforms into a big spider) Who's afraid of the big bad spider!
(Inuyasha shoves Shippo onto the floor)
Kagome: I'll take that as a yes.
Inuyasha: I'm not afraid of spiders.

    • Kagome: Look a fish!
Inuyasha: Hey we're not here to look at the scenery.
Kagome:Aye, aye, Mon Capitan!! On the lookout for shards of the Shikon jewel.
      Shippo: Uhhhhh.
Inuyasha: Shippo, you're not supposed to get seasick.
      Shippo: I'm not trying.
Inuyasha: We're never gonna find any jewel shards unless you two snap to it!

    • Mezunna: Forgive me Father. I should have never trusted this monster.

    • Inuyasha: Why are you staring at me? It's ticking me off. If you have something to say, say it!
Kagome: (thinking) And some things are better left unsaid.

    • Inuyasha: (after awakening from the effects of the spider venom) Kagome, back in the other room, you were crying. Why?
Kagome: I thought I was going to lose you. I thought you were going to die.
Inuyasha: Kagome, if it's not too much trouble, may I lay on your lap? (on her lap) Kagome, you smell nice.
Kagome: What?! A little while ago you made it a point to tell me you couldn't stand my scent.
Inuyasha: (in a really sweet voice) I did, but I was lying.

    • Shippo: Can we please pull over and take a break?
Inuyasha: Yeah, as soon as you get over your seasickness.
      Shippo: Uhh... Inuyasha?
      Inuyasha: What?
      (Shippo vomits)
      Inuyasha: UGH!!!
