Yeah, we still don't know... :/ There have been mixed rumors. But sometime next month, we'll know for sure! All I know, is that if ABC doesn't renew it, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes when Sheriff Underlay comes knocking on their door.

unfortunately, Invasion has not done that well overall...it does ok after lost but significantly worse on its own. We'll have to see how it holds up with lost the next couple weeks and hope for the best.

The only network that has renewed shows early is CBS. The rest of the networks are waiting until the May Upfronts. This is when they present their fall schedule.

    Patience everyone.

    From TV Guide:

    :
Invasion, Chief: ABC Faces Tough Decisions
In an interview with TVGuide.com, Jeff Bader, executive vice president of ABC entertainment programming and scheduling, says that as the May upfronts fast approach, the fates of Invasion and Commander in Chief have yet to be decided. "Since November, Invasion's episodes have been phenomenal," he says, "so that's a discussion more about the potential of the show than the actual [ratings] performance of it." Geena Davis' Commander in Chief is a "harder" decision, Bader tells us, because the network must weigh the pros ("a big star and a great concept") against its ratings struggles. (Chief debuted strongly, but took a major ratings hit over the course of two long hiatuses and show-runner changes.) "We know what we'd be renewing and we like what we'd be renewing, but the question is: Can we get the audience back?"

So what does this mean? They'll renew because the episodes have been great or not because the ratings aren't where they'd like them to be? Hmmmm, wait and see, I guess.

From what I understand ABC is willing to bring one weak show back, and they're saying since Invasion is doing great quality-wise that they could bring it back over Commander-in-Chief, which has been reinvented like three times due to changes in showrunners. And they could try relaunching Invasion in a new timeslot.

Plus, I think critics like Invasion more than they do C-I-C.

Some networks did some updates.  FOX renewed Prison Break and NBC renewed My Name is Earl. Of course both of these shows are questionably the two biggest successes of the new Fall season, though.

In addition, ABC has to be aware of the missteps that are purely the fault of ABC and not Shaun Cassidy. ABC asked Cassidy to make Invasion more like Lost and stretch out the mystery of the light creatures. This is why we had a few mediocre episodes in the early fall. According to Cassidy's original plan, those episodes should never have existed. It's very interesting that all the great episodes have occurred exactly after the point where the filler episodes ended (when Mariel saw "herself"). Cassidy and the writers added extra episodes just to extend the "mystery" but it seems like it was a half-hearted effort because it didn't fit into the "novel" concept that Shaun had.

ABC is also to blame for the foolish website that was up for so long, the goofy "Dave's blog" website. It was so difficult to find real information about the show and people who ended up at Dave's blog might have wondered if that was just a fansite.

I hope ABC realizes that if they trust Shaun Cassidy to run Invasion his way, it will continue to be a great show. The DVD release over the summer may generate additional interest and hopefully translate into better ratings next season (if there is a next season).

Looks like CIC is done.  Hopefully that means Invasion gets to stay (based on some "reading between the lines" on some of the previous posts here).

My hunch (regarding CIC) is that the initial surge in ratings was the hype of "a woman becoming president".  However, the show was basically a copy of West Wing (only not as good) & once the whole "woman as president" schtick wore off, people walked.

People need to write to ABC and ask them to retain "Invasion". Just do it.

The best thing they can do is watch the show and get all their friends to watch. I know people always say "Well I'm not a Nielsen Viewer so it doesn't matter" but hype and word-of-mouth and larger total viewership numbers means more Nielsen viewers will probably tune in. The final decision is coming in a couple weeks so a letter writing campaign at this point isn't likely to make much of a difference either way.

Well CIC has been yanked from the schedules AGAIN due to abysmal ratings, much lower than Invasion was getting. So it's almost a given that CIC is going to be cancelled

    So fingers crossed for Invasion

Well Invasion has been increasing in ratings (only slightly) but it has gone up and up since it came back, which must be a good thing. 4.9 ( on 26 April and 5.0 ( this week, and I knoiw the week prior to April 26th it was a bit lower, so although not huge, ratings have picked up. Fingers and toes crossed..

I extremely doubt Invasion will be cancelled. What I think will happen is that the writers will be told that in season 2, they should speed the pace up a bit because that is what drove many people away. And I think they will be told to put more mysteries in the story.

Invasion is very good atm. I've got mates who just flick on and they see the last 5 mins of an episode and they're hooked! but the people who started watching it at the start have gone away... except me and one other person!

I honestly wish you are right!! I am just halfway through the season (i am watching it from another country!) and I am so hooked on the plot...I agree with most people's opinion that it has in fact been very slow in revealing the real beauty that most certainly hides...

I would be extremely sad if it got cancelled...I wouldn't even buy the DVD for the first season if it did!

I don't think it will get cancelled. Since the pace picked up around half way through the season it has been fantastic. Ratings on this site certainly show a large increase in quality.

Not to mention that you don't know (or at least aren't supposed to know) if your friends are Nielsen viewers or not. Part of the contract is that you don't tell anyone. I got that info off of Nielsen's site - I'm not a Nielsen viewer myself - or am I
