I found out that recently cancelled show  Jericho, will be coming back for 8 more episodes because the fans sent nuts to the network  offices showing that they take no for an answer.

WHY didn't we do the same for Invasion?

It's not fair, Invasion is waaayyyyyy better than Jericho.

I am so angry rite now and wish we can still do something.

Did anyone do anything like this (please someone tell me that they did because then at least I know we tried)

The chance of bringing this show back are extremely remote, but you never know. "Hunter," the NBC cop show from the 1980s, ended in 1991 but a TV movie 4 years later was successful. Another TV movie aired in 2002. A third TV movie in 2003 acted as a pilot for a return of the regular series in 2003 with the original cast.

"The Pretender" (also on NBC) ended in 2000 but TNT aired two TV movies the following year.

With all the cable channels around these days, I don't see why one of them couldn't commission a miniseries or even a mini season to complete the story of "Invasion." I could see this having some success on the Sci Fi Channel in particular. I still haven't heard anything about this and I fear that it's already too late for something like this, but it would be nice to have. Maybe if William Fichtner's character gets killed off on "Prison Break," then something could happen.

Sci Fi could use another good miniseries. They haven't really had many good ones lately. "The Lost Room" was OK but it didn't pull in that many viewers. I think there would be plenty of fans who would show up for an "Invasion" miniseries. More than 10 million saw the show on ABC on a fairly regular basis. If only 3-4 million of them watched a miniseries, that would be considered a success for Sci Fi. Most of their shows only get 1-3 million viewers.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I heard about Jericho. How annoying. Invasion was way better written and much more entertaining. I doubt we will ever see a resurrection. Mostly because the buzz has died. Once the buzz dies around people begging for a renewal, you never really see one. Like the miniseries they promised for Commander in Chief, that Geena Davis as president show. Never happened. Cause after the "public outcry" lasted a few weeks, everyone dropped it and moved on to the next big thing. Also, I have read a couple different articles, one in Entertainment Weekly and I believe one in TV Guide, where they interviewed William Fitchner and he made it clear he was not having as much fun on Invasion creatively as he gets to have on Prison Break and he had no interest in returning. Unfortunate, but true.

Well, that pretty much seals the deal. Without William Fichtner, there's no point in even trying to start up the show again.

...first of all. the jericho season finale said something about nuts thats why the fans sent nuts. In the show they said nuts when the enemy asked them to surrender. Same with the fans. Invasion fans didnt send nuts because invasion had nothing aout nuts in it....duhh

you DEFINITLY cant say invasion is better than jericho. I know of about 10 million people that say otherwise. Especially since you have never seen Jericho. I bought the invasion dvd and watched the whole thing when it aired on abc. Invasion was slow and you barely got any answers from ep 1-the end. Jericho was slow to begin with but it got way better near he last 10 episodes.

10 million people? You must have one heck of a friends list.
Anyways I agree Jericho is a better show, but what would you send anywayss? As for DVD's, I'm never interested to buy a TVDVD when the show only lasted one season.

Ther have been so much websites like saveinvasion.com, there have been petitions, and a whole lot more!

So the viewers and fans did do something, only the makers of the show and the channel didn't respond to any of it!

This made me mad also. I like Jericho but I think this was better. In one season Surface, Invasion and E-Ring became my favorites and they all got the axe. I am still losing sleep about it.

Excuse me, I HAVE seen Jericho and that's why I know Invasion was waaayyyyy better. I like Jericho but it was no waaayyyy near Invasion so if Jericho can get saved, then there's hope for everyone. Jericho was such a cheap show but had its moments (Jake as lead was great) but Invasion's entire cast, story, everything made it an important must see show. I think Invasion's budget cost us and plus abc already has top show like Desperate Housewives, Lost and Grey's Anatomy. What does cbs have??? CSI is that it plus Jericho is cheap so they kept it in the end. I'm only looking forward to Jericho returning because I've invested too much of my time in it but if they just drag it, I will give up. Oh and when I mentioned nuts... I just wrote that in the heading so people would read what I was actually saying in the main topic and that is, we should have done something like that and I found out we did way better things than sending cheap nuts.
    Can't believe you didn't get that....duhh

I agree this was a good show, but I don't see why everybody is always saying "Why didn't we send (insert food item) to (insert network) to save (insert show title)." Just because it worked with ONE show doesn't mean it's going to make a difference for another show. The fans tried to respond to the cancellation, but ABC didn't budge. We'll just have to wonder what happens. (As I recall we didn't get much of a real ending)

    BRING IT BACK.

10 million people? Sure. Exagerating a bit dont you think?
For the second half of the season it struggled to reach 8 million, and ended with 7 mil.
Season 2 started with 7 mil, and went down to 5/6 by the 2nd/3rd episode.

I watched both shows, but lost interest in Jericho half way through. Jericho just kept getting worse.
Invasion started slow, but picked up towards the end. If Invasion had been renewed, it would've had a much better chance in surviving than Jericho did.

As for Invasions ratings, it ended with 8/9 mil. It lost almost half it's audience from start to finish, but as things finally began to pick up it was too late.

It's been almost 2 years since it was cancelled. We'd be ending season 3 sometime around now.

well first off that whole interview thing made me sad cause i remember reading something about that and the invasion fans did do something they sent emtpy water bottles to the studio and they had someone write in the sky "see the lights bring invasion back" or something like that i remember that because i read it about 3 months after it was cancelled and it was a very sad day for me and also i just wish william could have atleast said he would do like a movie or one more episode or something just to give us a ending because i am still waiting to find out what happens. im DYING to see a REAL SERIES FINALE not a SEASON finale with a big CLIFFHANGER that were still hanging on too.

Yeah...I couldn't believe it TBH. I remember watching the S1 finale...and like YES, this show is amazing(even having better episodes then LOST a few times the same night). I was excited how the season ended. Then I came online to join an INVASION forum for the first time to talk about how the season ended and how S2 would work....sadly I found out the show was canceled...the same night of the finale.

Now, I'm not sure what the nielsen ratings was for the last few episodes, but surely it should have been enough for SCI-FI or the CW to pick up. Although, costs to make the show was probably the biggest issue.

I just wish we could get closure like JERICHO was able to get...

I love the idea of doing something like taht but i think that too much time has passed now for it to work. Also all the actors are now on other shows.

You know Invasion did really well for the first season it got an average season viewership of 9.3 million which is quite high if you look at most of ABC's ratings. I believe that because the second half of the first season got a few lower ratings they decided to cancel it prematurely. I think if this show had another season to grow then it would have been even better and have higher ratings. I think the show was canceled because ABC did not like the way it fitted with shows like lost which got 14 mill an episode. The reason for not sending nuts? i dunno this was a year before Jericho and i think people thought that it would never come back. Hey name an ABC show brought back from cancelation from ABC? I bet its a few number of shows i tell you that!

Well nuts being sent was specific to Jericho because of a story told by Jake's grandfather- invasion fans should have sent something else... like she creature or jelly fish, lol.

Invasion fans did send stuff. I forgot what though, lol. I remember we were all campaigning on an old forum, but then it shut down a few months after it was cancelled.

And fans donated money to hire a plane to fly over ABC studios with the message "See the lights! Save Invasion!".

We did try, but after ABC cancelled it, that was it. God knows why CBS renewed crap fest Jericho.
