Shaun Cassidy made a real cool show, this is his best show ever. In this episode, we see conflicts arise among the main characters. Tom is now a full fledged fighter for the humans and the peace loving hybrids. So much of the tension are psychological, we see the characters dealing with the world around them or are coming to terms with the harsh reality that they need to accept. Tom learns more stuff about the military hybrids, his figuring out whose doing what, he might have done mistakes that he needs to fix or homestead will be overtaken by zealous aliens. Russ and Dave investigates an island used as a base camp by the hybrids. The scenes on the island really look cool.
this series has a great potential but they can not find the key to deliver a good performance to the viewer. In this episode we strar to see the plot of the aliens in this series. My big fear is that this series will copy tha plot of the old series con V in the 80'
Can thisshow gett any better along with surface this ,is the best new TV show in a long while, love it that Genre is coming back to TV, took leaps forward in charecter devolpment,Jesse is going insane, can't wait to see the spawn of Christina, if any survived, wow I hope we get another season
A great way to bring some of the loose ends from previous episodes to light. The show is definately trying to steer clear of some of the previous mistakes it made. Seeing the weather plane officer's body in the titanium crate with the tentacles attached was really interesting to see.
I think this episode is great at showing the show may not be what everyone thought it was going to be. If it can continue to prove it can be creative and not predictable and also offer a great storyline each week, it will certainly come back for another season.
Another victim of an unfortunate and unnecessary hiatus, “Invasion” returns with another episode that demonstrates how well the story arc was constructed. I believe that the network pushed for quicker pacing, but the progression of the plot feels organic rather than forced. It took a long time for things to get this bad, but now that the writing is on the wall, events are spiraling out of control in logical ways.
What’s the message in this episode? Essentially, the invasion is on, and a war for control and survival is brewing. Szura believes that the hybrids are the next stage in evolution, and he’s all about preparing his people for a successful takeover. Underlay is clearly not aware of Szura’s true goals, and it seems as though Szura has been locating and using hybrids in key positions around the region to maximize his chances for success.
The military knows a lot more than they’re letting on, and in a nice touch, their goals are left completely open to interpretation. Is it about finding the hybrids’ weaknesses? Or is it about determining the abilities of the hybrids in the hopes of yielding some benefit from the emerging species? Underlay gets the message that the military has been keeping the “invasion” secret from the very beginning, and that he and others have been allowed to roam free thanks to a power struggle within the military. If the “wrong” people were in charge, the war would have started a long time ago.
This is interesting in light of Russell’s precarious situation. He is quickly losing credibility, and sooner or later, his obsession with the hybrids will set him against the wrong people. Underlay certainly won’t like it, even if he has his own misgivings about where things are going. But if there are elements of the military looking to deal with the hybrids quietly, Russell could end up with allies among them. The problem, of course, is what to do about Mariel, since she’s “on the other side”.
Bringing the discussion around to Jesse, who has taken the predicted dark turn. Not only does his violent side come out in this episode, but it becomes the basis for another aspect of the “divorced family” metaphor. As far as Jesse is concerned, now that Underlay has “changed her”, Mariel is no longer his mother. To him, his mother is dead. It just so happens that this psychological reaction to a divorce situation has a basis in fact!
The only thing I didn’t like about this episode was Larkin. She was a lot stronger in this episode once the first act was over, but why in the world would she let some stranger into the house, even if she felt responsible for his condition? Does she forget what happened to her the last time she was alone with an odd stranger? Still, it’s a minor annoyance in a very strong episode. I can’t believe this series is still on the bubble.
I had stop to watch this show because it wasn\'t developping so much, I missed the two last episodes. However, I decided to watch it because I was curius to find if the plot had changed. After the episode, I was happy of my decision.
The episode was very good, especialy the part with Jesse. We could see that all the city was \"infested\". He will probably loose his control and shoot a somebody if he don\'t leave the city.
The part with Dave and Russel was great too. Dave was funny, he was scared from the beginning until the end. Larkin is as beautiful as she was and Tom is still myterious. I hope it will be as good next week.
In this episode we learn that the Air Force is aware of the hybrids and if I read between the lines a bit they are thinking that they could use the hybrids as some sort of super military. What confuses me is how Sherrif Underlay is one of the top hybrids but he is unaware of what the Air Force is up to. THis may be answered in the coming episodes. Of course everything does not have to be answered at once to make me happy, just a little bit each episode is enough to keep my attention until next week.
I like the trail of blood leading into the water from the 'exploded' pregnant belly of the rogue girl. That was disturbing enough to make me cringe a bit.
What I really wonder now is how this season will end? Will we end with the threat of the hybrids spreading across the entire country? Will we get to see the hideous creatures that are hiding within? .... maybe next week...
Dave and Russell start to investigate Tsura\'s island and find all the missing people rallying together including the vicar who was sent in the last episode by Tom to \"discover himself\". Russell is reluctant to call in the Coast Guard as it could endanger his family. When they eventually call it in they receive a shock they werent expecting.
Meanwhile Jesse is struggling back at school - the pupils start to divide into two groups, those who have changed and everyone else. A fight breaks out and Kira is worried that Jesse will do something silly and tells Mariel.
The military ask Tom to keep a look out for a pilot who \"survived\" the plane crash in the hurricane. After he finds out about the cover-up he asks for answers from the military who give in and show him inside the hanger that Larkin was snooping around and he gets to see inside one of the titanium boxes.
Another good episode - glad the series is going again.
Eh nothing really happened to be honest with you at the end, the writers decide to hide everything once again for another episode. However, this is what happened. After
Russell and Dave found the body of the dead pregnant
hybrid, they found the "other" hybrids.
Russell decides to call in the coast guard, but when
they finally arrive, the hybrids are no longer there
(no surprise). Thus Russell and Dave go back to square
one.
Tom befriends an airforce pilot who is a hybrid. He turns
him over to the Air Force themselves. Later Tom finds out
that the military is now using the hybrids for test experiments..
Tom's kid continues to be bullied by the "hybrid bullies" as I call it. At the end, the kid brandishes a gun, showing he will fight back.
An ok episode but once again, it leads to nothing, except more questions than answers. However, we now have proof
that the military knows whats going on but instead of panicking they are now usign the hybrids for their own
While on the island, Russel and Dave discover what might be the cause behind all the changes. Meanwhile, Jessie is having a hard time fitting in at school, and Sherrif Underlay finds out just how much the Air Force knows.
I just recently started watching this show, and I must say it's one of the most in-depth programs I watch. The premise of a secret covert invasion is excellent, and the acting shines along with it. This weeks episode was quite fast-paced for this show, involving quite a few revalations about the main plot, including the introduction of the idea that the "hybrid" people may just be the next evolutionary level of humans. This seems quite unlikely to me, what with the way these "changed" people are created, but in a show like this, you can't expect anyone to catch up with the audience.
I give this episode 8.5 out of 10. (I really like this show, and this was a great episode.)
Between the kids at school, and the Air Force or Army guys (I can't remember which they were) being tortured, this episode was disturbing on so very many levels. I can't imagine what conclusion this is all going to take. I am really worried about Rosie, being so young she is the most vulnerable. She wants everybody to be ok and happy.
And the poor priest! You almost feel sorry for him. I hope he doesn't get shot in the head for helping the guys!
I'm glad the new episodes are back on - can't wait to see where it's going!
