When a man is pushed off the edge of the pier you can hear the famous Wilhelm scream. The Wilhelm scream is a repeatedly used film and television stock sound effect first used in 1951 for the film Distant Drums.

The song, Riders on the Storm by the The Doors is played twice during this episode.

This episode was originally titled, Riders on the Storm.

Goof: Around 8 minutes into the episode, when Mariel gets out of her car, the Steadicam operator and his camera are clearly visible reflected in the glass and panels.

Goof: In the warehouse, Derek goes from being shirtless to wearing a grey pullover t-shirt between shots.

Dave finds a key on Healy's body and it has, HPM228 on it. This stands for Hyland Point Marine, berth number 228.

In the scene where Christina stabs Moldiva, two shots of the knife entering and exiting his body were cut from the re-broadcast on ABC Family Channel.

Goof: While Mariel talks to Larkin, the box she is holding jumps from being at her waist to being up on her abdomen between shots.

The newspaper that Sheriff Underlay looks at that has an article about him being the sole survivor of the plane crash in 1996 has the date Wednesday, August 14, 1996.

The Underlay's house number is 25448.

Goof: The position and amount of blood on Russell's face changes in between shots.

Mariel hung up the phone before hitting the button for the speaker phone.

We see in this episode that people and weapons are being sent an island. Uncharted Key, 122 miles southeast of Miami.

This episode marks the one-month anniversary of the hurricane.

Rose calls Tom, Daddy-Tom now.

Jesse mentions that Larkin is only older than him by a few years.

Early in the episode, we see Tom with keys in the locks on the double locked door. At the end of the episode, the locks appear to be open but the locks are turned around. Mariel and Russell just walk by the room.

Rose puts a shopping bag on the table and the camera pans to newspaper article about three sorority sisters drowning and a fourth is being sought in the investigation.

The couple that abducts Dave shows him newspaper cut-outs about what happened when a hurricane hit Brazil, Cuba and Argentina. In fact, the newspaper articles are written in Dutch and tell about a musical band, computers and anti virus software.

Sirk's missing arm had obviously been surgically amputated. When it comes back as a full arm and he decides to do a 'home' amputation, he uses an unsterilised chainsaw and we hear his screams, whilst Tom Underlay is outside. That kind of self mutilation would lead to an incredible amount of blood loss- it's even doubtful he could have sustained the chainsaw hacking through the arm without passing out. No doctor was in the immediate vicinity. He should have bled out and died within a few minutes.
