Do Iron Chefs retire?

    I've noticed in the new season (Chef Garces is now and Iron Chef) that the "veritable pantheon" no longer includes Iron Chef Mario Batali -- whassup?

    Near as I can tell, Mario Batalli left Food Network and now has a cooking show gig on PBS. Not sure what that is though, but that's the story...according to Wikipedia, that is. Besides, Iron Chef's do retire. After all, Wolfgang Puck was an Iron Chef for all of one episode.

    I noticed that he was taken out of the opening too, but it didn't come as a surprise, considering that he hasn't been in a battle for a very long time!
