  • Another Thanksgiving episode!

This is another Thanksgiving episode. Usually they would have celebrity chefs. But not in this episode. To start off with, we see that the chefs. Now have new aprons and they are a lot more neater. Some have black aprons, which make it really cool. Then, we get to the showdown. But rather than a challenger, we see the Iron Chefs pitted against another. Cora, Moritmoto vs Flay, Symon. The latter team, won by one point. It really was a very close match-up. Hopefully we get to see Iron Chefs pitted against one another. It is rare to see that. But really thought it added to great elements.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • For the first time on Iron Chef America there is no challenger for this battle. Instead the Charmain welcomes designer, and frequent ICA judge, Marc Ecko to Kitchen Stadium. Marc is there to unveil the new custom chefs coats he has designed for each of the Iron Chefs.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Alton Brown: Well, thanks to Mark Ecko, all of our Iron Chefs are on deck and resplendent in their ferocious new finery. But lest we forget, this is not a fashion show we're running here. It's a food fight and we have no juicy new challenger on which to chew. Of course, I guess our mischievous Chairman could have a novel amusement in mind for our viewing pleasure. Lets find out.

    • Chairman: Iron Chefs, today you must outdo yourselves and create a special Thanksgiving feast. A feast that will dazzle the pallets of our discerning judges, a feast that will move the culinary gods to rumble the heavens with thunderbolts of praise!
Bobby Flay: (quietly, to Michael Symon) He could kill ya in two seconds.

    • Alton Brown: The plucking has begun. Iron Chef Morimoto, the first time in Kitchen Stadium that he's ever had to pluck feathers that I know of. He's using that great kind of finger-roll motion which helps to pull out the finer feathers. Maybe he'll be making the Chairman a lovely down comforter for the end of the battle.

    • Bobby Flay: We're either gonna win or we're gonna get killed!

    • Alton Brown: Sous Chef Cruz making a daring reach to save that whisk. That would ruin anyone's Thanksgiving if your Sous Chef went up in flames!

  • NOTES (1)

    • The secret ingredient for this episode is a collection of foods that would have been served at the original Thanksgiving feast in America.

It includes ducks, lobsters, leeks, walnuts, wild turkey and dried Indian corn.
