I have to say, I prefer the original. The new one is all right, they never seemed to have many Americans or women on the old show for instance, but I still have something in my heart for the Japanese chefs.

I would have to agree with Lokar, original was definitely better, and the English dubbing makes it so reminiscent of old kung fu movies.

Original all the way. Better chefs, better judges and better hosts. I do like Alton Brown, but he is wasted on this show.

Definitely, definitely the original. I can't even make it through an episode of the new one.

I watched several episodes of the American series hoping and hoping that I would be able to honestly say that I enjoyed it, but I couldn't.  Something is just missing.  I think they've tried to make it too stylish and have lost too much of what made the original series appealing.  One day I finally decided to see if I would miss it at all if I simply stopped watching, and haven't watched an episode since.  I absolutely loved the original series, though, and am sorry to see that Food Network has apparently lost all interest in presenting it.  I'd much rather watched dubbed versions of the original than the over-produced show they're giving us now.

    Original by far.

I really want to love the american Iron Chef, but it is missing all its camp.  Oh, and I can't stand Jeffrey Steingarten. Why is he ALWAYS on the show?

Original for me too! I was totally hooked on the original, and now I just can't get into the American ones.

I watch the new one because it's the only one on right now, but the original was definitely the best!

I actually like the American one better because I know what the ingedrients are. In the Japanese one they have a lot of exotic ingredients that I've never heard of before. They're both good, I just like the American a bit better.

While I do like Iron Chef America, it will never live up to the original.

It's not even close, the original destroys the American-made knockoff Iron Chef. For starters, Iron Chef America was only made to cash-in on the unexpected popularity of the Japanese Iron Chef series.

Also, Bobby Flay is an A-One Jerk (I'm supposed to cheer for this ass?)
