  • Period Piece Dealing with Abortion

You can definitely tell that this episode predates Roe vs. Wade. "A Matter of Love and Death" takes us back to an era when many unwanted pregnancies were terminated by criminal abortionists (there's a term we don't hear anymore). This episode doesn't make a political statement regarding the ethics of abortion, rather it merely deals with the circumstances as they were at that time and leaves it up to the viewer to decide the morality of this issue.

The plot for this episode is well thought out and the actual culprit is kept hidden until the end. While there are no real twists and turns, I was surprised at the end. A great episode and period piece.moreless
