    • TRIVIA (3)

      • Robert T. Ironside and his crew stay at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Montreal, Quebec for the Convention headed by Frank Rousseau, the Deputy Director of the Montreal Police Department.

      • The bombing is to take place on the St-Jean-Baptiste Parade. This is a popular annual celebration in Quebec, Canada on 24 June (the feast day of St John the Baptist) or on the days before or after this date. Following a tradition the origin of which is lost in antiquity, many people, among them the Gauls, lit fires to celebrate the summer solstice. According to the Jesuit Relations and the Journal des Jésuites, this tradition was revived on the banks of the St Lawrence in 1636. In 1646 the Journal reported that on 23 June the fire for St-Jean was lit at half-past eight in the evening... One heard five cannon shots and two or three discharges from muskets.

      • The chess set stolen in this episode with only a brass pawn left was a 200-year-old Vaughan-Bassett Chess Set.

    • QUOTES (2)

      • Eve: Chief, can I help you with that?
Ironside: Where do women get the idea that only women can tie men's ties?
Eve: From a man, of course.

      • Frank: Bob, your badge is no good here, you know that.
Ironside: I'm not trying to use my badge. All I want is to speak to Robert.
Frank: You will speak, you will listen, you will get involved, and I will have all the newspapers screaming foreign intrusion of the police department. Bob, this is a very sensitive case. So far we haven't had anybody killed.
Ironside: That's why I want to speak to him.
Frank: St-Jean-Baptiste will turn this into a cause celebre. Not only the city but the entire Country is going to take sides, pressure is going to be put on us. Especially now with the annual parade only a few days away. Thousands of people are going to jamming the street. St-Jean-Baptiste is the patron saint of the French Canadienne and as far as these people are concerned, me and my police we are traitors.
Ironside: Since when are you interested in popularity polls? I am talking about an accused prisoner and you're throwing public opinion at me.
Frank: Maybe I am. But this is my public, my country and my headache.
