At the church mission all join in singing "Amazing Grace".
In a scene Ironside is knocked off his wheelchair and lying on the ground. William Smith lifts up Ironside like he weighs next to nothing. Really amazing to see!
Ironside: Well, I guess that you've heard that I retired from the department some months ago. I settled in down here and I got thinking I might make a little extra money, supplement my pension, you know, by selling my life story. I don't want much for it, I just thought that maybe, well, you know, maybe...
Jim Rogers: Yeah, we might be able to do something with that. I have to figure out the right format, you know. How about a drink?
Ironside: Oh, not right now, it's too early for me.
Jim Rogers: (smiles and pours two glasses) So, uh, you have any ideas how to go about this?
Ironside: Actually, I do have a couple of ideas. You see I'm thinking of making a comeback.
Jim Rogers: Good angle.
Ironside: I think so, too. Say, do you think--do you think you could give me a little advance? Not much, you understand.
Jim Rogers: How would, uh, twenty strike you?
Ironside: That's generous of you. Very generous.
Jim Rogers: You were, uh, telling me about a comeback was that it?
Ironside: That's right, right before I quit--ah, retired, there was this boy who was involved in an accident. Well, I've come up with a lead.
Wilson: (talking on the phone) The word is the old fox knows a lot more than he lets on. Yeah, he's half stoned all the time, too, so he never does any real work on it. I know what you mean, it could end up bad for both of us if he does know something and he knocks off the bottle. Yeah, I'll take care of it.
