Eve: (putting down the phone) Well, the Chief was right.
Ironside: Don't look so surprised!

Ironside: A good cop learns from his mistakes. Up to now I always figured that after the heist, Sims took the money.
Ed: Yes.
Ironside: You may this hard to believe, but there is a remote possibility that I may have been mistaken.

Eve: Chief, she's here now, in person, the reporter who's been calling for an interview. I'll say this for her, she's persistent, and pretty too.
Ironside: Miss Whitfield, one of your more important jobs is to protect me from unnecessary interruptions. Tell her I'm busy. (pauses to think and calls Eve back) Ah, just a minute, Eve. You say she's a pretty girl?
Eve: Quite pretty.
Ironside: On the other hand, when have we ever neglected our friends of the fourth estate? Bring her in.
