      • The pub used in the battle re-enactment sketch is called "The Pub". The two teams are the Hounslow Battle Re-enactors as the roundheads (led by Gavin as Prince Rupert and with "Al" as Thomas Fairfax) and the Newport Pagnell cavaliers (led by Sir Marmaduke Landale, and assisted by Mad Frank.) The battle re-enacted was the battle of Naseby. Gavin arrives in a blue Peugeot.

      • The second eyewitness, Clive Pocock usually eats a potato waffle at 4.15. On this occasion he ate it at 4.35 and went into the kitchen 8 minutes later to prepare a pot noodle snack for his wife Beryl (probably Chicken and Mushroom as she is allergic to Beef and Mushroom.) His half brother Eric had been scheduled to pick up Barry and Reeny to go to the Newton Abbot community centre to see the Wurzels. They had been cancelled and replaced by an emergency Papier Mache workshop which Reenan was unable to attend due to an allergy picked up at Wookie Hole.

      • The first eyewitness, Nigel, was the March 1983 Watford Gap Services employee of the month.

      • Ages that never quite made it were Moss, Bark and Sponge.

      • Forms of ID Bill had in the video shop were his passport, credit card, driving license, birth certificate and Dixons store card.

      • There were 24 categories of whistles in the whistle test. Of the four visible at the front, three of them were "Alf", "Sports Day" and "One Man in His Dog." A shrillness level of 8.4 was the minimum requirement.

      • The airport baggage handler was in an ABC Supermarket. Itmes in his trolley included toilet roll, Cornflakes, daffodils, a Kingsmill loaf, and a 15-pack of Hula Hoops.

      • Biscuits mentioned in this episode are: Penguins, Yo-Yos, Gipsy Creams, Garibaldis, Fig Rolls, Tunnocks Wafers, Caramel Logs and Custard Creams.
