This episode started off with promise. The opening few minutes with the explanation of the D.E.N.N.I.S. system was priceless and was reminiscent of the early stages of Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother (before that show became a complete laughing stock).

Then things got just really stupid. The scene with Dee falling down just seemed so out of place as It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia has never relied on this kind of humor so one has to wonder why now? And then we had carnies, and the waitress randomly appearing and key stabbing, just truly bizarre even by Sunny standards.moreless

I've missed vain Dennis. It's always a good time when Dennis' vanity gets the best of him and he acts like the sex fiend he is. Consider him a tamer Hank Moody. Well, maybe that's getting a little ahead of myself, but the main point is that he loves to D.E.N.N.I.S women and leave them hurting, only to be ready to pick them back up at any time he wants. This was one of my favorite episodes this season because the writing was above-average, everybody had great moments and we actually got to see come continuity in the show, something that rarely happens.

The relationship between Charlie and the Waitress always makes for comedy gold, and this was no exception. When Charlie showed up at her apartment trying to fix her sink and planning on giving her a bag of his hair as a gift, I lost it. And Mac and Frank's plans to pick up Dennis' chicks after he dumps them were awesome as well ("Yeah, it's the M.A.C.. "Move in After Completion.")

I mentioned continuity, and not only was The Waitress in this episode, but so was Ben from the wrestling episode and Gladys from the Nightman Cometh. In fact, I have to say, Gladys just may have had one of the best lines of the entire night, involving Susan B. Anthony. But you should watch it for yourself. The fact that Sunny could go back and take these characters and combine them into this episode is awesome.

After last week's somewhat sub-par episode, I was really glad to see the show back to its usual dynamic: the gang comes up with a god-awful idea and screws everything up. Just the way I like the show.moreless

    • Ben: I like turtles.

Ben has his face painted like a lizard and utters the non sequitur "I like turtles". This references Jonathon Ware, the I like turtles kid. In 2007, a KGW reporter at the Waterfront Village attempted to interview a then 10 year old Ware who just had his face painted to look like a zombie. Rather than answer a question about the face painting, Ware stares blankly at the camera and says "I like turtles". This clip has since become an internet meme.
