... or should I say, Great!

I really liked this episode, sweet dee and frank were really great on this one and it has some of their best lines ever on the show. Mac, Dennis and Charlie were great as well

The only problem I have with it is the way the plots came together in the end, I was expecting something expetacular but the way they did it felt kind of lazy (IMO). It's still a good ending though. The final scene with the whole gang getting into the pool was perfect and it kind of saved it.

I'm really looking forward for the rest of the season!

The season 5 premiere of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was far from perfect, but it was pretty darn funny. The show's edgy, crossing the line plots are what makes the program unique and a must-watch, but things are never offensive and that is a true testament to Sunny.

I was even laughing at some of Dee's lines though, something that rarely happens. But Frank, Mac, Dennis and Charlie were all on top of their A game, rounding out one of the best comedy ensembles on TV.

No review can do this episode justice so just watch it because you'll love it.
  • Its Always Sunny is back, and it's AWESOME.

I think maybe it's just the fact that I've been rewatching the other four seasons WAY too many times in the past year, but I was really jonesing for some new Its Always Sunny. And after I read the article on the first four episodes on the home page of this site, I was twice as excited. And I have to say, this episode was great. They didn't overdo it on the plot, like having people get kidnapped or making a musical.. it was just the gang being awful people as usual.

The cold open, with the guys yelling "NEWS! NEWS! NEWS!" was hilarious, as was Dee overall. Last season was a huge step forward for her in terms of humor and material, and this episode shows why she's quickly becoming one of the best. Even Frank had his funny moments (telling the kids he's going to throw the toys away, swimming in the pool). The ending was perfect, with the gang finally ending their streak of not swimming in a pool.

The one thing I didn't enjoy so much is how they kind of dropped the ball with the multiple plots going on. Some shows (Seinfeld, Arrested Development) can take multiple plots and bring them all together into a great conclusion where they all tie together somehow. However, with this episode, we never see what happens with the duel, never see exactly what goes on with Frank's house.. everything ties together, but it felt like there was a few pieces missing.

REGARDLESS, this episode was excellent. The opening quote on bird law is stuck in my head right now and just won't leave. Can't wait for next week's.
