  • Horrible episode.

This had to be one of the worst episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia I have ever seen, and I have seen every episode. This was just inappropriate nonsense, a bunch of disgusting, disheveled individuals running around talking about drinking and sleeping around with the spouses of deceased. This is not the smart, clever and witty show that It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia used to be.

Just last week the show had a great installment, but whoever wrote this episode should be fired. It is that simple, there is no excuse for something like this being put on a quality network like F/X.
  • Frank was fantastic. The usage of a can for wine is brilliant and really allows for violent hand movements. Gail the snail is a fantastic character and the cast finally is like old times. Good recovery from earlier this season.

This was a solid episode. No one enjoys salting another human being. If this episode was done in season 2 it would get a 10 from everyone. This was a good episode. When Gail the snail gave frank a handy under the table and he told her to stop because "she was just mashing it", I peed a little. And watching frank gargle beer while next to mac was a step forward in television. I hope to see more always sunny like this with an interesting set up followed by a fantastic ending. This is a big improvement from earlier this season.

    I thought this was the funniest episode of the season, which I thought at times has felt a bit forced, though not without its bright moments. This one had the easy rapport between the real actors shining through. Also if you're a fan of callbacks, this was a good episode for that too. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
  • Frank actually shines in this episode. Not too bad.

While this wasn't my favorite episode of It's Always Sunny, as usual, I found myself laughing at almost every scene. The writers AND the actors just seem to have a way of delivering their lines and doing their scenes that just make anything funny. The gang tries to give Frank an intervention, as the title says, but find it harder to do than anticipated, mostly because it's like someone who lies all the time telling another liar to start telling the truth.. Alcoholics trying to intervene another alcoholic will most likely fail, as the gang discovers.

Normally, it seems like Frank doesn't have much of anything to do in episodes.. he's done better this season, but I thought the 4th season really underused him. However, with this episode, we get to see Danny Devito having fun with Frank, getting drunk, spitting up beer, breathing his awful beer breath on Mac and coming dangerously close to banging his niece.. Only on It's Always Sunny will you see this stuff happening.

I didn't think it was the best episode though.. Initially, upon hearing the episode name, I was excited, and the clips they showed in commercials were good, but I was a little bit let down. But that doesn't mean that it didn't have its good moments. The drinking wine out of a can was amazing, and it's always a fun time when the gang rags on Charlie for his stupidity ("I'm thinking after this we get you a damn literacy intervention, cause you're getting dumb").. and come to think of it, when Charlie started complaining about how him and Frank don't play "Nightcrawlers" anymore, I couldn't stop laughing. Just imagining the two of them crawling around on the ground like worms at night was enough to set me off.

So far, I like this season a lot more than Season 3.. the episodes are well written and a lot funnier, mostly because they focus more on the characters and the dialogue instead of ridiculous plots (thats not to say the plots aren't ridiculous this season, because they are pretty insane.. but I mean, kidnapping a restaurant critic, his neighbor and their diabetic cat? Come on..). I look forward to next weeks, because it gives us a chance to see Charlie pining for the Waitress again, something that always makes for funny stuff.
