  • The Gang Reignites the Rivalry...

I've been a fan of Sunny since season 1, that being said... This episode was horrible. There was possibly ONE funny part in the whole episode. The funny part was at the end when they are playing flip cup. This is not one of their good ones. This show has really gone down hill in my opinion. I liked every episode until "The gang cracks the Liberty bell" once that came out, there episodes started to be pretty bad... not that some after that one weren't good but they were pretty crummy. I MuST SaY THaT SEaSON 5 WaS A TOTaL DISaPPOINTMENT!! There were a few funny episodes that made me think that they could still make 'em good if they put their minds to it, but I think that they aren't putting their full attention on this show. I think that "Boldly going nowhere" is distracting them from keeping a great show great. That's my opinion at least.moreless
  • Season finale.

Tonight the season finale of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia aired, although you will have to buy the DVD to see the real last episode of the year, the Christmas special.

Tonight's episode felt like the Sunny of all, four late twentysomethings hanging out at a frat house, causing ruckus and of course Dee getting screwed over in the end as usual. This reminded me of the pilot where the gang went to a local college to recruit African-American people for their bar. Anytime you get these guys near college students, hilarity ensues.

Frank was really funny tonight, which was not always the case this year. Danny DeVito has been pretty hit or miss since joining this show, but he was on tonight.

Nice way to end the season. Now it's just, oh, 9 more months til another episode!moreless
  • Pretty funny, but not what the synopsis lead me to believe

It's Always Sunny has been my favorite comedy on television since it premiered, because when these five actors get together and talk and get into discussions, it feels like when my friends and I hung out in high school. Obviously we don't salt women named Gail the Snail or poison people over a flip cup tournament, but something with this show creates a sense of nostalgia with me.

That being said, this episode was funny, but it didn't have the same season finale feel the last couple seasons have left me with. There was a lot of Dennis screaming and yelling "SAVAGES!" and of Frank tweaking out on Adderol or whatever the hell he was snorting.. the best parts, in my eyes, was Frank dressed in skinny pants (I agree with people who have said Frank was good in this episode; I usually think he's just background noise, but he was just strange and hilarious this episode) and the way the episode ended at the frat party.

It was a pretty mellow finale compared to something as big as The Nightman Cometh or The Gang Dances Their Asses Off, which had me laughing the entire time. It just didn't feel like the same quality as the rest of the season.

That being said, between this show and Curb Your Enthusiasm, I don't know which comedy show I liked more this year. Both had a great year and rebounded from a slightly weaker one.. I may just have to go back and give them both another watch.. A funny episode overall thoughmoreless
