As a longtime professional wrestling fan I love anytime the sport gets mainstream recognition, even if it is in the grittiest form such as indy wrestling, displayed in last year's infamous film The Wrestler and in tonight's episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Roddy Piper was incredible as a down and out wrestler called "Maniac" that was as absurdly genius as it was hilarious. Believe it or not, this was an accurate portrayal of how old, broken down wrestlers behave.

"He kept calling you the n word!" Laugh out loud moments a plenty on Sunny tonight. Some really awkward moments, but overall another good ep.moreless

One part "The Wrestler" and one part "It's Always Sunny in Philidelphia," this episode brings the laughs (maybe not as much as previous episodes) and has the return of Rickety Cricket.. however, I felt like there was a lot going on in the episode, and to me, this episode felt like something that deserved more time in order to flesh out the story. Everything felt like it was happening so fast that I felt like there were scenes missing.

There were some really funny lines in this episode. The discussion about the Hulk's hair and the gang's argument about how their routine sounds less like support of the troops and more like the description of a bird's lifestyle. There were a lot of strong parts, and of course, ending the episode with Trash Man coming out of retirement and saving the day from Rickety Cricket, the terrorist, was the perfect way to go out. I think the supporting characters are incredible in Its Always Sunny, unlike a lot of shows, so using them in ways like this is awesome.

Maybe it's just me being picky, but I felt like there should've been a little more. It was ten minutes in and they had barely even planned a single thing about the show.. fifteen minutes in and they finally decide to get a new wrestler. Maybe if there were some more scenes with the Birds of War? I don't know.. either way, I'm not going to let something small like that get in the way of the funny. Take Trash Man, the Birds of War, Dee getting hit in the face with a metal chair and Cricket going insane and you get a pretty good episode.moreless
