The channel broadcasting from the Superstore could not have been emitting in 3D as not one, but two cameras are needed to create a 3D image. There was only one camera shooting the reporter.

Trivia: This is the first episode of the series to not feature any scenes at Paddy's Irish Pub.
This episode was dedicated to the loving memory of David Zdunich who passed away in 2009. He played Ernie, a frequent patron of Paddy's pub. His first appearance on the show was in the episode, "Sweet Dee's Dating a Retarded Person."
The Waitress mentions that she and Dee went to the same high school. However, when Dee tells the Waitress to fill out her job application in the 3rd season episode "The Gang Sells Out," the Waitress asks "Did you go to high school?"
You can clearly see the shadow of one of the camera men next to the surrogate couple when Dee decides to have a talk with Mac and Dennis after they introduced themselves as the wealthy gay couple.

Trivia: Dennis trying to remember the name of the waitress is an inside joke. After regularly appearing in the series beginning with the first episode until now, the name of Mary Elizabeth Ellis's character has not been established. She is simply credited as "Waitress" in all the episodes.
The McPoyles' desire for vengeance goes back to the ending of the episode, The Gang Gets Invincible. Dennis stated that Frank's actions will probably come back to haunt them all.
