It's Punky Brewster

Show Summary

Based on the live-action hit of 1984-88, this animated version followed the adventures of Punky and her magical friend, Glomer, who came from the world at the end of the rainbow. Glomer can transport Punky and her friends (Margaux, Cherie, and Allen) to any part of the earth in the blink of an eye. Punky Brewster was voiced by the original actress, Soleil Moon Frye. This animated version of the series came a year after the live-action counterpart. It had the voices of everyone from the series, and exclusively for this cartoon series, there was a magical, gremlin-like creature called Glomer. It originally ran from September 14, 1985 to September 5, 1987 on NBC's Saturday morning lineup, and reruns were aired again on NBC from November 5, 1988 to September 2, 1989 when an opening came up in their schedule, now just called Punky Brewster. It was produced by animation company Ruby-Spears Productions (who also did the long-running Alvin and the Chipmunks in the 1980s) and NBC Productions.

Here are the Lyrics to the Theme Song:

I ran to the end of a rainbow's eye There wasn't any pot of gold. And there I found a new friend who's two feet tall One hundred and four years old

Glomer is an orphan He was left behind And a lot like Punky He is one of a kind

Punky Brewster Come on it's just a fantasy, you know-uh-oh Punky Brewster I always want you here with me I know-uh-oh Punky Brewster No one's gonna understand Punky Brewster Together we're the best of friends

Punky Brewster I always want you here with me you know-uh-oh.

I don't remember ever watching the live TV show, but I have fond memories of the cartoon. I wish they would release it to DVD.
  • I miss it. I miss Solei Moon Frye.

The show is a part of alot of peoples lifes. Also, it could be again... if you can get the cast back together. And also, make some new cast members in the mix. I would love to see this show get new life again. Also, I am a huge Solei Moon Frye fan. She is a great actress and a wonderful woman, if I could.... I would give her a big kiss in the cheek and tell her, "You are a work of art." All of the artests in this world can not make you more prefect.moreless

It\'s Punky Brewster was a very cool cartoon. The people who played on the live action tv show did the voices for the It\'s Punky Brewster cartoon show. It\'s Punky Brewster is about Punky who finds this little furry creature by the name of Glomer. Punky and Glomer become the very best of friends. Glomer has magic powers. And can do pretty much what Punky wants him to do. They can even go to far away places. If you love this cartoon like I do and want to see some of the episodes again then I suggest that you go out and buy season 1 and season 2 of Punky Brewster on DVD and go to the bonus features and there you can watch some of the It\'s Punky Brewster cartoon. Enjoy!!!!moreless
