Itsy Bitsy Spider

Show Summary

Itsy Bitsy Spider originated--based on the children's song--as an animated short subject by the Hyperion studio in 1992 which appeared with the animated feature film Bebe's Kids. The short centered around a mischievous spider (voice of Frank Welker) who befriends a shy, sweet little girl (Thora Birch), much to the arachnophobic frustration of her piano teacher (Charlotte Rae). The teacher summons a gung-ho exterminator who winds up destroying the teacher's house but not his eight-legged, four-eyed prey. Itsy Bitsy Spider became a weekly series on USA in 1993. The little girl was named Leslie (now voiced by Francesca Marie Smith) and Itsy was still fruitlessly pursued by the Exterminator (now voiced by Matt Frewer). Two seasons of shows were produced; it has not been replayed anywhere following its cancellation in 1996.
