Episode Summary

January 8, 1962
Celebrity guest is Tom Ewell.

The first contestants are Joyce Schroeder and Martin Schroeder from Granite City, Illinois. Their secret is that somebody stole their house.

The second contestants are an older woman who identifies herself as Mrs. Southerland from Queens, New York, a younger woman named Mrs. Lippman from Queens, and a little boy named Kevin. The three are three generations of the same family (mother, her daughter and a grandson). But the secret is that the little boy's mother is backstage. The younger woman is really the boy's grandmother. Garry mention's at the end that all he said was this was three generations of the same family, and that he never said whose grandson Kevin was. Tom Ewell's secret is that the panel will read stories from the newspaper while wearing headphones. What they will hear is themselves speaking at first, but then when he flips a switch a tape recorder takes over and what they will then hear is their own voices but with a half second time lag, sounding like their own echo. The trick is for them to keep reading without getting distracted from the echoing.moreless
