Nitpick: In the future, Peter Benedict says that Jack was "Congressman for the 22nd district of Missouri." Missouri currently has nine congressional seats, and would have to have populations comprable to Ohio or Illinois in order to have twenty-two congressmen.
Sloppy editing (repeating text, overlapping sentences) on madeup newspaper articles that were briefly shown.
(Last line of the series)
Pres. Robert McAllister: As strong as the marble of the Jefferson Memorial, as tall and proud as the Statue of Liberty. This spirit, the same spirit, that brought the Mayflower to these shores lives today in the great ship we call "America". A proud ship of state gracing the dawn of a new tomorrow. A tomorrow in which we extend the hand of friendship and bury the fist of war. A tomorrow where man shall know the respect of every other man. This is the dream of our Founding Fathers and the charge we owe to our children. It is our life's work. And it is not done yet.
Peter (to Grace): I may dance like a geezer, but I know a good looking woman when I see one.
In 2006, two seasons after this series' demise, creator Greg Berlanti became the executive producer of ABC's hit "Brothers and Sisters". In that series' eleventh episode, "Family Day", Rob Lowe is introduced as a recurring character. His role: Senator Robert McCallister!
After the official cancellation of the series in May 2005, cable channel TV Land re-aired the last episode "The Legacy" a month later on Saturday, June 11th. This was the last airing of any episode for "Jack & Bobby" on TV.
In the original script of this episode there was supposed to be a scene with Grace (Christine Lahti) encountering her former boyfriend Tom Wexler (played by Bradley Cooper). It was evidently cut as Bradley Cooper signed on to a Fox pilot and was busy at the time.
Guest-star Norman Lear who was the creator of ground-breaking porgrams like All in the Family and Maude was an fan of the series, only a few of the TV programs he likes. He sat down with Jack & Bobby creator Greg Berlanti and agreed to appear on the show.
On May 17, 2005 the WB announced that it had cancelled Jack & Bobby due to low ratings throughout the season. It will not have a second season.
