On stage at the Hammersmith Apollo, west London, Dee delivered droll comments on everyday life and introduced comic guests (Joan Rivers, Ardal O'Hanlon, Jo Brand, Ross Noble and Omid Djalili; in the final edition Dee performed solo). The shows were structured so that Dee would kick-off proceedings, his guest performed the bulk of the show and then Dee returned, commenting wittily on text messages sent to his mobile phone by members of the audience. (His phone number was displayed in the foyer.) Guests in the second series were Lee Mack, Dara O'Briain, Rob Brydon (as Keith Barret), Rich Hall, Marcus Brigstocke & Julian Clary. Series 3: Jack Dee, who hosted the first two series' of Live At The Apollo, will host the first show, and during the series hosts will also include Jo Brand, Jimmy Carr (8 Out Of 10 Cats), Lee Mack (Not Going Out), Dara O'Briain (Mock The Week) and legendary US comedienne Joan Rivers. The stellar line-up of special guests performing during the run include Alan Carr, Patrick Kielty, Sean Lock, Michael McIntyre, Stephen K Amos, Frankie Boyle, Russell Howard and Jason Manford.moreless
Jack Dee is a genious. In Jack dee live at the apollo, Jack Dee is...well live at the apollo, there's not much more to it. He's a great British comedian and seems to get better every time I see him. I especially like the last portion of the show, were he reads out a few texts sent in by the audience during the show.
