Show Summary

Jackee is the pilot for a comedy series spin-off of the NBC Show 227 where Sandra moves to the big city. 227 was the NBC sitcom that was adapted from a play written by Christine Houston about the lives of black women living in an apartment building together in 50's Chicago. 227 took that story to Washington D.C., where we meet the women of the 227 building. At the center of it all was Mary Jenkins (Marla Gibbs), a nosy housewife who lived with her construction workers husband Lester (Hal Williams) and daughter Brenda (Regina King). Their building had some characters in it, most notably was Sandra Clark (Jackee Harry), the buildings sexy vamp, who was always getting into arguments with Mary about everything under the sun. Jackee's role catapulted her and even landed her an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress. After Jackee's character became more of a focus on the show, tension rose between her and Gibbs, and they were known to fight on set. NBC created a spin off series where Sandra moves to New York City, and becomes the manager of an upscale health club. The Club is full of hunky guys, and plenty of odd characters. The pilot episode was rejected, and Jackee ended up leaving 227. Tune in and see the short-lived adventures of Sandra Clark in NYC on Jackee.moreless
