Episode Summary

EDIT
A dark Chi-Wizard from the future called Iso travels to the past to steal one half of an ancient relic from Section 13. Unbeknownst to Iso, Jade follows him through a time portal on his return trip to the future and runs into her older self. Young Jade is shocked and disappointed to learn that adult Jade has so easily accepted the punishment of being put on desk duty at Section 13 after accidentally blowing up a donut shop with the dragon talisman. In a surprising turn of events, Iso reveals his true identity. This shocking revelation might be the key to defeating Iso as the two Jades attempt to acquire the help of a most unlikely ally.moreless

  • Why this episode as a series finale?

    6.0
This episode was pretty great...if it would've been a normal season episode but the downside to this episode that it didn't provide the closure a series finale needs. Normally, short cartoons just get canceled without ever having an announced series finale but for a 5-season cartoon this was pretty stupid. The whole younger/older Jane plot was pretty funny, so I DID enjoy this episode, but as a series finale the episode was pretty disappointing. I've enjoyed Jackie Chan: Adventures alot over the past years and I'm sad to see it go like this, I'm just hoping that a DVD-box will be released in Europe.moreless
  • THIS IS NOT THE SERIES FINALE.

    8.0
It's a good episode but it's not the series finale. Although this episode was aired after the orginal two-part series finale, The Powers That Be, it's not the series finale. It's just the last episode to be aired. Why?

Kids' WB! wanted to air "The Powers That Be" as a back-to-back episode. Don't treat this as the series finale because not even syndication channels treat it as such either. In fact, this episode is aired before the "Powers That Be", which is the actual series finale. So no more reviews about this being the final episode because it's not.moreless
  • the episode was actually good but...

    9.0
It was possibly a mistake for it to be the series finally, it was probably going to be the episode before the power that be.

So that must be why this was te series finally, although there is still some cuestions buy well that is how it ended or is it?

    • Uncle: Ai-ya! Young Jade and older Jade. Uncle has déjà vu all over again.
      Jackie: Jade, explain.
Both Jades: Iso stole our half of the Arcanum of Chi in the past by using a time portal spell. So I followed him through when he escaped back to the future.
Jackie: No, please. One Jade at a time.

    • Jackie: Jade! You weren't supposed to... Oh, why do I bother?

    • Jade: What happened to you? You used to rock!
Future Jade: You think I like pushing papers all day? I don't, but this is my job and Captain Black is my boss. You have to grow up sometime, Jade.
      Jade: Speak for yourself!

    • Jade: (showing Jimmy her adult self) That's me. Do I rock or what?
      Jimmy: What about me?
      Jade: You're more like disco.

  • NOTES (8)

    • Shendu, Valmont, and The Enforcers are the only villains to appear in all five seasons of the show.

    • In the U.S. reruns, this episode is shown in its original slot, which is before "The Powers That Be" episodes.

    • Lucy Liu does not reprise her role as Future Jade in this episode. Stacie Chan who plays Jade does double voice acting duty as she takes over the role of the older version of her character.

    • In the U.S., KidsWB aired this episode after the episodes, "The Powers That Be Parts I & II." It should have aired before them like it did in other countries due to past Tohru not being a full chi wizard yet. Also, the talismans were still around.

    • Older Jade was not demoted to a desk job due to her actions in the episode, "J2." Captain Black punished her for unauthorized use of the dragon talisman, which resulted in the destruction of a donut shop.

    • Alongside the return of the future versions of Jade, Jackie and Uncle, Captain Black's future self appears in this episode, complete with a goatee, as does future Tohru, now a Chi-master.

    • Aired on Friday, instead of a Saturday.

    • First aired in the UK on Jetix on Tuesday: 22 March 2005.
