Episode Summary

EDIT
The Tiger Talisman splits the dark and light sides of Jackie in two, which makes it easy for Valmont to trick his dark side into working for the Dark Hand. The light Jackie could not do anything, he does not want to fight, while the dark Jackie steals the 12 talismans from Section 13. Both halves fight for the talisman, but Valmont gets to it first and uses it to turn Shendu into it's old self again, an alive, giant dragon demon.moreless

  • Reminds me a lot of a particular Jackie Chan movie...

    8.7
Jackie Chan was able to retrieve the final talisman; the tiger. The tiger talisman has the ability to split the ying and yang of a single person, which happens to Jackie. He has a wussy and badass side that split into two. The Dark Hand gets in a battle with both, and were able to capture the dark side. Valmont makes a deal with him to bring back the other talismans in exchange for wealth. The wussy Jackie convinces bad Jackie to help rescue Jade and recapture the other talismans, though it was too late; Shendu has come to life.

Awesome and exhilirating. It was hilarious how the two Jackie's operated, because we're so used to the nice Jackie, that seeing him all badass, and wussy at the same time, was extremely amusing. The dialogue like always, is clever and funny, like how wussy Jackie suggested he was the bad side because he stepped on a bug. Or how the Dark Hand was running away from bad Jackie, even though they were supposed to be the ones chasing him. The fighting, especially the teamwork between good and bad Jackie, were quite entertaining. It's actually quite remininsce of past Jackie Chan movies. What makes this episode even more intriguing is that it isn't a "Talisman of the week" episode. The story in the first season has finally reached its climax, and it'll be interesting how it'll pull it off.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • When Light Jackie and Dark Jackie are fighting while Jade is trying to open the tackle box, if you slow down the scene where Light Jackie is behind the ladder and Dark Jackie is trying to hit him, you'll notice that Dark Jackie disappears and suddenly reappears! The reason may be because for the fluid animation of the sequence.

  • QUOTES (13)

  • NOTES (4)

    • Tohru won the pie-eating contest after eating a record-breaking 47 pies.

    • In the episode "Bullies," Ms. Hardman said Jade got in trouble for stilt walking with ladders. While fighting Dark Jackie, Light Jackie actually did stilt walk with a ladder.

    • Shendu is restored to full power at the end of this episode.

    • New Talisman: Tiger
It brings spiritual balance and fuses the conficting powers of all the other talismans into one (For example, if you use it with the Rooster and the Rabbit Talisman, you'll be able to fly fast).
The Old Man at the pie contest broke it, so it split Jackie into his good and bad halves when he accidentally used it, but since the very end of this episode, when Valmont put both halves into Shendu, the talisman isn't broken anymore.

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • n/a: Light and Dark Jackie
Jackie Chan played twins separated at birth in the movie, Twin Dragons. One twin is particularly good and the other is particularly bad.
