Reviews were great. Syndicated critic Ric Du Brow wrote: "Usually show business reunions are about as satisfying as reheated coffee. But none of the old spark of the "Honeymooners" trio was missing...It was as through the three great troopers had worked together only last week."
This is the first time Gleason, Carney, and Meadows have all three worked together since 1956. Columnist Terry Vernon quoted Gleason as saying, "I was overwhelmed with warmness and friendship at seeing them again."
This is the first musical Honeymooners episode. It's composers, Jerry Bresler & Lyn Duddy, would continue this duty for the color musical extravaganzas that would air starting that fall on The Jackie Gleason Show.
This is the final Honeymooners to be telecast in black and white, and their final appearance on the American Scene Magazine.
