    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Harm receives two books from Harriet as part of the JAG staff's efforts to help him through his recent streak of bad luck. The author of the "book" Nine Secrets for Highly Successful Lawyers, seen on the front cover of the book, is Don McGill, the writer of the episode and (with Donald Belasario ) co-creator of the NCIS television series.

    • QUOTES (8)

      • Bobbi Latham: Don't you see the bigger picture?
Harm: I defended my client, the only picture I'm allowed to see.

      • Admiral Chegwidden: And you're basing this theory on a drunk in a hotel men's room?
        Harm: At the bar, sir.

      • Colonel Klesko: (to Harm) Fog of war, Commander. Two Distinguished Flying Crosses, you should know. You get shot at, your instinct is to shoot back.

      • (Discussing who should represent Captain Shepard)
Harm: That Marine was an aviator, Colonel.
Mac: That Marine was a MARINE.

      • Harriet: I went shopping yesterday and if there ever was a book with your name all over it, it was this one. It's signed.
        Harm: Commander of the Fleet.
Harriet: Oh, I this one, too, on sale.
Harm: Nine Secrets of Highly Effective Lawyers.
Harriet: Yes, sir, I think you'll find the part about eye contact and voice projection really helpful.
Harm: Is there something wrong with my vocal projection?
Harriet: No, sir, you have great timbre.
Harm: Oh, it's the eyes, then.
Harriet: No, No, sir. You have, um . . . very clear, sharp eyes.
Harm: So, it's the seven other secrets?
Harriet: No, sir, I just . . . I overheard some of the staff talking that, you know, you've had a little bad luck in the courtroom lately. So, I thought . . . On second thought, sir, you don't even need this. I'll just take it back.
Harm: No, no, no, I'll find a use for it. It was very thoughtful of you. Thank you.
        Harriet: You're welcome, sir.
Bud: Sir? Oh, hey. I have this book. Harriet gave it to me after I lost my first . . . case.

      • Tiner: Afternoon, sirs.
        Harm: Tiner.
Tiner: I found something this weekend, Commander that may be of use to you, sir.
        Harm: Really?
Tiner: I know the last few cases haven't quite gone your way and, well, sir we all have times of trouble, when we need a helping hand.
        Harm: That's a song, isn't it?
Tiner: Here, sir, I want you to have this. (Tiner hands Harm a statue.) It's pre-velcroed for your dash, sir.
        Harm: What is it?
Tiner: Saint Ivo of Kermartin, sir.
Bud and Tiner: Patron Saint of lawyers.
        Harm: What?
Tiner: Sometimes, Commander, even the best lawyer has to make that . . . higher appeal, sir.
        Harm: Thanks, Tiner.
        Tiner: You're welcome, sir.

      • Bobbi Latham: What's the point of having a military if we don't use it?
Sturgis Turner: Senator, I don't think a Marine captain marching his troops into an ambush is a good example of using our military.

      • Harm: A lot of people are wondering why we're peacekeeping in Africa when our own cities are under attack.

    • NOTES (0)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Frank Seawell mentions that Captain Shepard was stationed in Lebanon when the 1983 barracks bombing happened. That was on October 23. 241 American servicemen were killed that day, 220 of whom were Marines. The bombing was a suicide attack involving a truck packed with explosives. The perpetrators are still unknown, but Hezbollah has been widely suspected.
