Goof: In the scene where Bud and the other actor see the body in the car, they run up to it. When they are looking at the body, if you look closely and ignore the camera movement, you can clearly tell that the body isn't dead. It can be seen heavily breathing. This is due to an actor screw up, as most actors can hold their breath for dead body scenes.
Harm: Krennick's coming on to me wasn't about sex, it was about power. I was the hot hand at JAG, and represented a potential rival.
Mac: So she tried to use sex to control you? Very masculine approach.
Harm: Well, that's a very feminine assumption!
Mac: Touche.
Mac: You owe me the rest of the story.
Harm: Why?
Mac: Because!
Harm: 'Because' has never been a valid reason for anything, Mac.
Mac: You don't tell a joke and then not deliver the punchline.
Harm: Oh, I'm not telling a joke.
Lt. Lamm: She didn't deserve to die like that.
Harm: She didn't deserve to die at all.
Mac: I don't know what's worse, killing for someone you love or dying for them.
Harm: Everyone knew Commander Krennick had her sights set on the Admiral's chair.
Mac: And you. Bud says you threw her more 'Red Lights' than the Beltway during rush hour.
CPO Bannon: Mr. Roberts, I have observed in my 17 years in the Navy that some of her officers are full of horse-pucky.

Mac (and viewers) finally learn the reason Harm looked "shell-shocked" when they were first introduced to each other in the episode, "We The People".
This episode is referred to in the industry as a "bottle show". It is designed to minimize the number of sets/shots/actors in order to save money. All of the flashbacks were part of the first season episode, "Skeleton Crew".
"Skeleton Crew" was to serve as a cliff-hanger leading into the second season. However, NBC cancelled the show after it was filmed but before its scheduled airdate. As a result, NBC never showed that episode.
Howvever, when they reused this material they put a new spin on the original. In "Skeleton Crew" it's mentioned that Diane was raped, but this is never mentioned in "Death Watch", since that would have ruled out Diane's roommate Sarah as a suspect. Similarly, the lines where Sarah says that Diane wasn't a lesbian wasn't included in the original show, presumably because they felt it unnecessary to make this point. It was put back in "Death Watch" also to make Sarah a possible suspect.
Harm says that Bud has "loose lips." In WWII, a common slogan for security-awareness posters was "Loose lips sink ships."
