Episode Summary

EDIT
Each of Us Angels
AIRED:

This episode pays tribute to the Navy nurses who served during WWII.

In the best tradition of "Ghosts of Christmas Past" which paid tribute to the USO entertainers past & present; "Overdue & Presumed Lost" which saluted the sailors who have been a part of the submarine community, running deep & running silent on their 100th anniversary, "Each Of Us Angels" continues that great tradition by focusing almost exclusively onboard the Navy hospital ship, USS Goodwill, during the battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.

Well, call me nuts, but I really liked this episode. I enjoyed seeing the regular cast placed into different roles. With the same old Harm/Mac romantic-ness that is just plain everywhere in the series...

I am very glad to see people honoring the females in the military in our country's history-- seems to me people forget about people like these nurses, and all the things that they too sacrificed to aid the war effort.

Iwo Jima is a powerful image, idea, memory, symbol; whatever you want to call it, it is special.

It's amazing to see how far nursing has come in the last 100 years (yes, my history knowledge isn't that bad, I know that Iwo and WWII were more recent than 100 years--but I'm just thinking, okay?). We're far from the place where all that could be done was fluffing pillows and holding hands. Not to say those things don't help, but you know what I mean....moreless

    • International Episode Titles:

    • The onscreen dedication at the end of the episode is shown against a backdrop of several photos of combat nurses in action. The dedication is as follows:
"Dedicated To All The Angels Who Have Served In Peace and War....Bless Them All".

    • The episode uses Marine combat photography inserted in various parts of the episode, so the color will be somewhat degraded to match it. This was accomplished by using special filters during filming & in post-production. While still being shown in full-color, you will noticed that it will appear as 'faded'; so it is not the fault of your TV set.
