  • On the weak side

    This episode seemed to be a whole lot of boring. It continues what seemed to be the season 10 theme of pursuing Bin Laden, Taliban, etc. Once again we see VERY little of General Cresswell. When Admiral Chegwidden was JAG we would often see Harm and Mac consulting with him and using his wisdom as almost like their conscience but that has been lost in this season. The General gives the assignments and that about covers it. The strength of this episode would be the use of Islamic law as the backdrop for the trial. It goes to show how much we do not understand about that culture.
    Lastly, the "recall" of Big Bud was ridiculous. He served his 30 years and has been out of the military since before the show started so that places him in late fifties. Add in the court-martial he faced and it gets quite unbelievable that the Navy would been his warehousing abilities.moreless

    • Mac: Some Marines say he can make himself invisible. Burns: If I were you, Colonel, I'd try to talk him into getting his invisible butt into a Marine brig before the Afghan army finds him.

    • General Cresswell says, "The Greeks had Achilles, the Trojans had Hector ..." This is a reference to the Trojan War, which was fought over the beautiful Helen of Troy.

    • General Cresswell: You don't think a Marine Captain can accomplish all that, Commander?
      Harm: Not without a change of clothes and a phone booth. A quick reference to Superman.

    • The title is a reference to Joseph Conrad's novel Heart of Darkness, the book that inspired the movie Apocalypse Now.
