Episode Summary

EDIT
People v. Mac
AIRED:

Mac is arrested and placed on trial for a major felony, along with her former commanding officer and mentor, Col. John Farrow. Conviction could result in long prison terms. Harm volunteers to defend her, but his efforts are thwarted by Farrow's defense attorney, JAG exchange officer, Australian Navy Commander Mic Brumby. Harm feels that neither defendant has come clean with the truth and he begins to search for evidence which is not forthcoming from either one. Ultimately, he learns that Mac and Farrow have each been trying to protect the other. The key witness in the case turns out to be a major surprise to both defendants.

    • Mac: Thanks for believing in me.
Harm: I've gotta admit, you had me going for awhile, there.
Mac: Yeah, but you stay with me.
      (Mic joins them)
Mic: So, what do you say to a celebration dinner on me?
      Harm: I'm busy. But thanks.
      Mic: Too bad. Mac?
      Mac: Maybe.
Mic: I'll ring you up later. (he walks away)
Harm: Mac, the guy just tried to pin a murder on you. You're gonna have dinner with him?
Mac: Yeah, to give him a chance to apologize.
Harm: (incredulously) The men you pick.

    • Mic: All you lot, Rabb, Roberts, even you admiral, sir, you're all Mac's friends. But you're all a little bit in love with her. Not that I blame you, but it clouds your judgement, sir. Have you considered the possibility that she's guilty, sir?
      Admiral Chegwidden: Yes, I have.
Mic: And what? You dismissed the idea? Well, I can't dismiss the idea, sir.

    • Harm: Mac is not a murderer.
Mic: Well, you didn't think she was married either.

    • Mac: (on the phone) I need your help.
      Harm: What's wrong?
      Mac: I've been arrested.
      Harm: Arrested for what?
      Mac: Murdering my husband.

    • Mic: You know, if you give her time, she'll come around.
Harm: Who will come around to what?
Mic: The major. To trusting you again. Look, here's the deal, you stray once she'll forgive you. You'll pay, but she'll forgive you.
      Harm: I didn't stray.
Mic: You stray twice, she'll push you away forever.
Harm: First of all, I didn't stray.
Mic: Look, come off the grass, mate.
Harm: Second of all, I certainly don't need your advice on women. And third, Mac is not a woman, she's a friend.
Mic: So there's nothing between you two? She's a free agent as far as you're concerned?
Harm: Yeah, as far as I'm concerned, yeah.
Mic: Then you're right. You don't need my advice.

    • Harm: What, no bad jokes about my case? Something must really be bothering you.
      Mac: Me? I'm fine.
Harm: You can talk to me about it, Mac.
Mac: I tried talking to you. As I recall, you were in Congress with a congresswoman. How is Bobbi Latham, by the way?
