  • The scene between the U.S. and Iraqi jets would not happen. Being in the Navy myself, I can assure you that the U.S. military will not shoot first. U.S. military will not shoot unless fired upon first. Other than that this is another good episode!moreless

When the two U.S. jets encounter the two Iraqi jets in the No-Fly zone and proceed to shoot first, this would not happen! Being in the Navy myself I can assure you that the U.S. military will not shoot unless fired upon first. The U.S. military has strict guidelines (ROE - Rules Of Engagement). One of those guidelines states that you will not fire unless fired upon first! Besides this issue, this episode is good. I love the conversation between Rabb and Mac in the ship's wardroom reagrding Rabb's meatloaf. It shows the budding friendship and humor between the two.moreless

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Mac: (about Yarborrough) He creates problems, and then he fixes them. Kind of like a fireman who torches a building just so he can put it out.

    • Bud: How's life aboard the carrier?
Harm: You know, it's the Coral Sea. If you like ear-piercing machinery, the smell of jet fuel, sharing the head with 12 other guys...
Bud: Yeah, I miss it sometimes myself, sir.

    • Skipper: We're a warship whose mission is to keep the peace. The irony of that situation would be almost humorous if our job wasn't so damn dangerous.

    • (Mac is in sickbay after acid burns her fingers)
Harm: Are you going to be okay?
Mac: Well, I won't be playing the piano anytime soon.
Harm: I've heard you play, Mac. It's probably for the best.

    • Cmdr. Bradley: We're undermanned. We're underfunded. If it ain't broke, we don't fix it. If it is broke, we only fix it if we have to.

    • Skipper: We're here to enforce the No-Fly Zone, which is extremely difficult when I cannot get planes into the air.
Mac: Is there some sort of problem with the auxiliary power, sir?
Skipper: Everything went down. This is a warship, Major, she doesn't run well on batteries.

    • PO Tiner: Lt. Sherkston's kind of like the son the Admiral never had.
Mac: (to Harm) I guess that makes you the son he never wanted.
      Harm: Very funny.

  • NOTES (1)

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • When Yarborrough is programming the computer to set off alarms and cause trouble, he says, "Houston, you have a problem." "Houston, we have a problem" is the tagline from the 1995 movie Apollo 13. Astronaut Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks) says it after the explosion on the Apollo 13 spacecraft. During the actual Apollo 13 incident, it was Command Module Pilot Jack Swigert said, "Houston, we've had a problem", not the Mission Commander Lovell.
