As the show is winding down it really seems like the writers have given up. Of course we are back in the Middle East in this episode. The difference is the war is kind of brought home when a group of reservists from a small town in Oklahoma are all killed except for one. His anger / guilt at being spared causes him to do something totally out of character. That part was kind of touching.

The other disturbing trend that continued was leaving cast members out of entire episodes. Coates, Sturgis, and Vukovic are all missing in action here. In fact we haven't seen Sturgis in quite a while.moreless

    • Mayor: I never thought you'd be one to take the low road. Lance Corporal Scott Van Arsdale: The war is the low road, sir! Edit
    • Harm: How are you feeling? Lance Corporal Scott Van Arsdale: It's like when you get the flu, sir. It affects everything. Sun feels cold. The bed feels hard. Food gets stuck in your throat. Edit
    • (Discussing Lance Corporal Van Arsdale) Bud: Was he injured, ma'am? Mrs. Van Arsdale: Surface wounds. I can't vouch for the state of his heart, though. He lost every friend he's ever had. Edit
