As the show is winding down it really seems like the writers have given up. Of course we are back in the Middle East in this episode. The difference is the war is kind of brought home when a group of reservists from a small town in Oklahoma are all killed except for one. His anger / guilt at being spared causes him to do something totally out of character. That part was kind of touching.
The other disturbing trend that continued was leaving cast members out of entire episodes. Coates, Sturgis, and Vukovic are all missing in action here. In fact we haven't seen Sturgis in quite a while.
