  • Diane locates Jake who is fighting in an underground venue and realizes he has no memory of his previous life.

This episode was not aired in first run and probably wouldn't have saved the series but it has elements missing from earlier episodes, particularly the sating of the Diane's angst for Jake which is contained in every melodramatic young adult series. The rest of the action is formulaic. Jake falls in with a criminal element, is put on a wanted dead or alive list by the NSA, the calvary arriving just in time to foil the robbery and Jakes amnesia is curred by the end of the hour.

The Sci-Fi line about Jake's enhanced abilities is by this time old hat so as he beats his opponents senseless seem to blend into the crime and punishment part of the story line. this series was one of many that UPN green lit and then canceled. It is obvious why this series failed, but this episode was one of the top three in it's limited run.moreless
  • The second of a two parter. Jake's lost his memory and is on the run. Diane takes the matter into her own hands to save her, before the NSA gets his hand on him.moreless

This is an exciting episode. Jake is lonely and tortued and all sad, trying to find his way in a world he do not remember. He don't know who to trust and what to do.

He starts fighting people for money, which has been done in alot of shows. Why is it that sad men has to fight when they are feeling hurt? I dont really know, but I like it. It's cool scences with Jake fighting some big scary looking men, kindof messy and bloody, kindof raw. You can really feel the pain. And the look on Dianes face when she finds him. Heartbreaking. It's intense and cool that Diane and Fran is doing their own search for Jake, they don't really trust the NSA to get the job done right. Vigilantes ftw.

Well the episodes is excellent, it get under your skin and you truly feel the pain.moreless
  • After last week's episode, Jake suffers from memory loss and Diane has to track him down.

I selected the classification "a very special episode" because it is the one in which Diane comes closest to admitting her feelings for Jake, yet it's to a Jake who's lost his memory and doesn't remember her.

A great second parter and a nice follow-up to last week's episode. Jake's lost his memory and this allows the writers to make Jake do some crazy things, like bare-knuckle fighting in a bar backroom.

Excellent acting, especially by the actress playing Diane. Her emotional attachment to Jake seems very real and they bond quite well.

A great episode with lots of emotional development for both Jake and Diane.moreless

  • QUOTES (6)

    • Jake: You're planning a robbery
Caesar: Yeah, I like to think of it as liberation of assets.

    • Caesar: I don't look at you as a criminal, I look at you as a kindred soul.

    • Diane: How long have you been fighting people for money?
Jake: About as long as I can remember.
Diane: You get dental with that?
      Jake: Only painful extractions.

    • Diane: This is insane! We should be trying to talk to him, not track him down like an animal. You are gonna get him killed!

    • Diane: Jake!
Jake: What are you doing here?
Diane: Hey I missed you at the diner... I thought that we had...
      Jake: I had to work.
      Diane: Had to?
Jake: No, no, I wanted to work. Okay? Can you understand that?

    • Diane: (to Jake) Hey, I saw you at the... at the palace... back room thing... and it was really interesting. It was my first time there. Kinda makes me wonder how you get a job like that. You know bludgeoning people... Do you get an education for that, or get recruited?
