Does anyone think they might ever release seasons of game shows on DVD like Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, or The price Is Right? I think it would be really cool to see some of the older episodes of these shows, when things were really different. To my knowledge, there isn't any way to get these shows anywhere now, so the only hope of seeing them is if they come to DVD.

well, i just read that they're releasing a jeopardy dvd on Nov 8th...it's mostly a behind-the-scenes kind of dvd. It also includes Trebek's first episode, Jennings' last episode(how sad), and the 3 rounds of the Ultimate Tournament Finals

I think it would be a shame if the whole DVD centered around Ken Jennings. There have been lots of great contestants besides just him.

Well obviously they did not last as long because Jeopardy had a 5 game winning limit on before season 19, but there are several other contestants who drew just as much if not more attention than Ken.

but that's my point...Since there were many people that reached the 5 game limit, no one really stood out as a "jeopardy master", because they would all last 5 games. After the limit was removed, Ken won waaay more games than that, which would naturally draw more attention

I'm mainly interesting in seeing older shows because I'm more interested in the history of the show itself.

So how is this DVD? Is it worth buying? What's the best/worst part of the DVD? Thanks, I'm a Jeopardy fan and just want to know if it's worth getting or if should I just stick with the books.

A&E had a special Biography episode about Jeopardy! contestants. Of course they included Ken Jennings, but they devoted a lot of time to Brad Rutter, Frank Spangenberg and a couple others among the all-time greats. I'd highly recommend it to all Jeopardy! fans. I don't know if it's available on DVD, but if it is, it's probably expensive like all of the A&E DVDs.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be for sale on either A&E or Amazon's website. It might come up on the A&E Biography repeats or on the Biography channel. In addition to interviews with the featured champions, they showed some behind-the-scenes footage of the audition process, if I remember correctly.

Well, they could release the version of "Jeopardy!" with Art Fleming as the host on DVD. Right now, I've got a rare sound clip of the "Jeopardy!" theme from all those years ago!
