One thing I can do without, is the "interesting" little facts about the contestants. A prime example is last night's game. One of the players talked about what a messy eater he was. That kept me so riveted!

And the way one guy asked his girlfrend to marry him on jeopardy!. Your right they get rid of that, and they will have more game time.

They still almost always get through the entire boards.

Remember, at least one, and sometime both, challengers will only get one appearance. Give 'em their 20 seconds to talk about what they want while they have the cahnce.

That's what Tivo is for my friend. I always fast forward through that segment.

    This is true.
    I miss Ken.
I just got use to him after awhile.
I do agree that the chatting with the contestants part stinks.

more game time... play more of the game! but i rather like (or liked -- haven't seen it in a while) the contestant stuff. okay sometimes it's boring but it lets us get to know them a tiny bit, albeit JUST a tiny bit. i also admit we get to know them better, in the way we want to, by how they ask the questions to the answers.

He did.  Even though he had to think of 75 interesting anecdotes!  I think my favorite was when he said something jokingly about killing someone.

I fast foward right through their anecdotes; right to the point where Alex looks over at the camera as if embarassed or confused (The returning champion's anecdote is usually more "interesting" in nature).  I don't care what the contestant said, I just think Alex Trebec is funny.

That true but depends on who the contestant and what they say.

Even when I was on there, I thought the bio part was kind of boring. However, I wonder if they've changed the form that they use for contestants to list the info that Alex talks about. During the five-day limit days, the form just had five spaces to list the things. Now, with no limits, I wonder if they give them a form a day to fill out during their title run. Also, I liked they way they did the interview segment in the early Nineties when they would come back from commercial, continue the game, then talk to the contestants at the end of the Jeopardy round. Like they said on "Seinfeld", it made the show flow much smoother.

I usually fast forward through that part..however, once in a great while people have something interesting to say. I have no complaints about the time being spent playing the game, however. Jeopardy packs so much more trivia and excitement in a half hour than any other game show could show in a days worth of episodes. The way the contestants and hosts dilly dally and banter on shows like "Millionaire" and "5th Grader" makes me want to scream! (Thus, I don't usually watch them! )
