Jeremy Vine Meets...

Show Summary

Jeremy Vine a TV documentary series from the UK that profiles celebrities and interesting people in thirty-minute segments. British TV journalist Jeremy Vine sits down with an invited guest and goes one-on-one with them, as he recounts their life's work. The host mixes archive footage in between discussion, starting his season with Irish singer-songwriter Bob Geldof. Vine opens the episode describing Geldof's political activism in the 70s and participation in his first rock band, The Boomtown Rat, which contributed to the punk-rock movement of the eighties. Vine then segues into Geldof's Nobel Peace Prize nomination and recent knighthood. Billionaire singer Lionel Richie shows up in the next episode, and Sting appears later in the series. By mid-season, the host steps away from the music industry and focuses his show on actors, with profiles and interviews from Rupert Everett, Jeremy Irons and Ken Stott. Vine ends the series showcasing unknown actors who left the industry but continue their contribution to the art.
