Weekly Announcements for the Jericho Fandom
    Jericho Electronic Broadcast System (JEBS)
    April 6, 2011

    Jericho Returns to Netflix

As of April 1st, Jericho is once again available on instant streaming via Netflix.

    Operation Phoenix/Comic Book Update

    April 5, 2011

    Hello Fellow Rangers:

I would like to take this time to talk about Jericho's future. Ratkeeper and her team manned the Jericho Fan Table at Wondercon in San Francisco March 31-April 2, 2011. Ratkeeper was interviewed by a tv news crew who identified themselves as being with NBC Universal Comcast not the local affiliate. There was a buzz and energy that was noticeable for all 3 days. The crew talked to hundreds of fans who stopped by the Fan table, many of whom became fans after March 2008.

Common Law is a new series that Dan Shotz and Junction seemed to have been working on for months that s slated to go on USA which is a member of the NBC Universal family. Many of the actors including Skeet Ulrich and Gerald McRaney were on NBC shows, but are no longer part of the show due to cancellation or cast changes.

We are now 4 years removed from the days in May 2007 when the Jericho Fans banned together to fight CBS's decision to cancel Jericho. The days of flooding CBS with emails, faxes, telephone calls and the tons of Nuts are now distant memories long since viewable only in the rear view mirror. Time has moved on as has many of the original fans.

What has happened is more remarkable than those days of high octane energy when you could not wait to get home to log onto the CBS Board or wait until 10:00 pm when Shaun's Blog Talk Radio show would be coming on with some producer, actor or writer from the show.

After the cancellation in 2008, a new Jericho Wave or real grass roots movement was born, it began with those who were part of the various Jericho Fan communities online who continued to get the word out through various means such as placing ads in Variety, renting space on a CBS owned Billboard outside CBS Television Studios in LA, putting together a television commercial which aired in LA on Time Warner and on UHD.

Social media such as Facebook and Twitter has completely changed how people communicate with each other and how social and political groups have adopted these new means of communication. Facebook and word of mouth has fueled the New Jericho Wave and are the main reason the Jericho Fan base continues to grow one New Fan at a time.

Jericho has been available at Youtube, Joost, SYFY Channel and Netflix since 2008 and new fans continue to be made. The Jericho Comic is back in production and selling out because this new Grass Roots movement has created tens of thousands of new fans hungry for more Jericho.

For the first time since March 2008, it looks like Jericho has a real future continuing on in a television/movie format. Our team was told by the IDW Comic Representative that that there will be at least one Jericho producer at Comic Con in July and that it is likely we will get good news at Comic Con. Ratkeeper was told that it is likely that Redux will be sold out by Comic Con in late July 2011.

If you have not had a chance click on the link to the Podcast where Dan Shotz and Robert Levine talk Jericho with the Fans from the campaigns to save Jericho. It is great to hear from past and present Jericho Fan group Leaders.

We have stayed the Course and have ridden the New Jericho Wave and are about to see where it has lead us. Most likely our answer will come at Comic Con in San Diego, CA at the end of July of 2011 only 3 short months away.

    Keep the Faith

    WonderCon Recap

The con was awesome. We talked to 115 fans on Friday, 221 on Saturday and 76 fans on Sunday.

The IDW booth SOLD OUT their supply of Jericho Redux issues. IDW also let us know that a Jericho producer will be at Comic Con in July. We also learned that IDW was NOT responsible for the storyline change (see below).

A big thank you to all who helped at the fan table:

Without their aid I would not be able to run the fan table.

    Comic Storyline Change

I noticed the change in the storyline about a week before the podcast. Redsox and I discussed this and decided it would be best to question Dan during the podcast. I highly suggest that everyone listen to the Future Traditions podcast to hear Dan's answer yourself.

I discovered the change in storyline by reading the current IDW outlines for issues #5 & #6. I thought it had changed and I went back to the DDP version. I published those as spoilers on many boards (including here).

    Here are the two versions:
    DDP Version
#5 - Jake and Hawkins evade the ASA guards and escape from Loomer Ridge Prison with terrorist John Smith. With a cavalry on their tail, Jake finds an unlikely place to harbor Smith as they begin to make their way to Columbus. In Jericho, the citizens react to the ASA's institution of a military draft as Beck is interrogated for his involvement in the death of Major Petrella.
#6 - Two missions collide as civil war looms. Major Beck, losing his foothold in Jericho, is redeployed to the front line just as Jake and Hawkins arrive in Jericho with the master terrorist John Smith.

    IDW Version
#5 - Jake and Hawkins evade the ASA guards and escape from Loomer Ridge Prison with terrorist John Smith. With the cavalry on their tail, Smith guides Jake and Hawkins to an unlikely place for refuge. Meanwhile, In Jericho, the citizens react to the ASA's institution of a military draft as Beck is interrogated for his involvement in the death of Major Petrella.

#6 - With civil war looming, Major Beck tries to maintain his foothold in Jericho as Jake and Hawkins return home-with the master terrorist John Smith.

NOTICE THE CHANGES!!! In the IDW version: Jake and Hawkins will NOT go to Columbus. Major Beck will NOT be transferred to the front lines.
