  • Jesse Stone investigates the death of a young girl he had befriended years earlier, and a new Paradise police chief is appointed.

A real sleeper; took way too long to remind us of just who the victim was in this episode. Still trying to figure out why the chief of police was the only one who ever did any investigation in the department. Who does the investigation now with the new figurehead in charge? How many years does it take to get over his ex-wife? Was this episode merely a set-up for future episodes? I can't wait for it to come out in DVD so I can see it again to see if there was anything I missed that would make this episode important.
  • A bit slow moving, but held our interest throughout. Far too mystical to be enjoyed--who the heck was he? Please someone, somewhere let us

In classical Jesse Stone style the panorama, characters and plot are engrossing, but a trifle too slow to thoroughly enjoy. The persistent ex-police chief can't get over it (whatever " it" is) out of his system and lingers on and on in a far off state of reminiscence, and remorse. Almost a "super hero" in overall makeup, Jesse seemingly always gets his "man"--whoever that "man" may have been. The unclear revelation of the attempted assassin leaves the viewer hanging even at the very end. Loved the laid back dialog, simplistic comment/question and direct response. However, dismayed by the unclear identification of the assassin Jesse destroyed at the end. The simplistic dialog remains ultra refreshing as well as the lack of the usual two fisted gun aiming police technique too frequently utilized in most dramas.
