A lot of things have changed for Jesse with this the opening to the second season.

The main part being that Jesse now has a job and the cast has changed accordingly.

What I don’t understand is that there is no explanation as to what happened to the rest of Jesse’s family that were living with her all of the first season. It is suddenly as if they didn’t exist and that frustrates me.

However the one thing that does work for the show is partially kept with Diego returning, and the humor that comes from their relationship issues.

The humor has taken a turn more towards the silliness also, which sadly makes Jesse’s world feel more unrealistic to me and unfortunately takes some of the magic away from what the show was originally.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • At the beginning of this episode when Diego proposes to Jesse, both Jesse and Diego are wearing different shirts from the first season's cliffhanger.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Diego: I was stupid enough to believe that you would appreciate, like, a big grand gesture and that you would find it romantic and be swept off your feet.
Jesse: Yeah, well maybe next time you do a grand gesture you should call first.
Diego: That is not a grand gesture, that is a planned gesture.

    • Jesse: I took on too much, all right? It is too hard for me. I'm just in—I'm in over my head, alright? I'm not Superwoman, okay? I'm Rather-Incapable Girl.

    • Jesse: I don't work here anymore. Take your pee to the mean man.

    • Linda: You still want to be a nurse?
Jesse: Yeah, of course. You know, it's still hard, and gross stuff happens, but there's enough cool stuff in between all the gross stuff to make it okay, you know?
Linda: Wow, that's how my mom described sex.

    • Kurt: You're a distracted person; my time is precious.
      Jesse: Huh?
Kurt: You were late today, that took up my precious time. You're in nursing school. I'm a nurse. You'll ask me questions. Avoiding you will take up my precious time. You have a family life. You'll want to show me pictures. Pretending to be interested will take up my precious time.

  • NOTES (1)

    • The series was completely retooled between seasons, with Jesse's father and brothers disappearing and the featured workplace becoming a hospital.
