JFK: 3 Shots That Changed America

Show Summary

JFK: 3 Shots that Changed America is a History Channel original two-part, four-hour, compilation of never before seen footage and interviews surrounding the Kennedy assassination. The documentary paints a picture of what it was like in 1963. There was no Internet, 24-7 news broadcasts, and no cell phones. America was a different place entirely. The two-part film starts out with President Kennedy's last speech in Fort Worth, TX. A speech that was just minutes before he sat in the black convertible in route to Dallas. All the footage in the film is comprised of actual on-scene reporting, which adds to the horrific realism of the day. One thing is clear, the news agencies were clearly hard pressed to get the information to the public as quickly as they could. The documentary illustrates why, after November 22, 1963 news stations started keeping cameras ready at all times. Regardless, the History Channel original is an interesting and shocking look into one of America's greatest tragedies.moreless
