Destiny's Child Farewell
The farewell performance by multi-platinum world renowned super group Destiny's Child on the November 15 broadcast of the ABC late-night talk show. Destiny's Child, featuring Beyonci Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, will kick off the evening with the debut performance of "Stand Up for Love," the anthem for World Children's Day 2005. Hot on the heels of their chart topping greatest hits album, #1's, Destiny's Child will perform songs both inside and outside on the "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Pontiac Garage West stage for a crowd of their fans from all over the world. The show, which marks the first time "Jimmy Kimmel Live" has devoted a broadcast to one feature guest, will air at 12:05 a.m., ET/PT on ABC. "I know they have other plans, but I will do everything in my power to keep Destiny's Child together," said Jimmy Kimmel. "For the good of the world." "We are excited to do this special performance for our fans on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." We love the show and really appreciate Jimmy's sense of humor," said the members of Destiny's Child. One of the world's top-selling musical acts of the late '90s and early '00s, Destiny's Child -- Beyonci, Michelle and Kelly -- account for the sale of more than 50 million records worldwide. The members of Destiny's Child, individually and collectively, have earned a phenomenal 42 gold, platinum, and multi-platinum RIAA certifications since the group's recorded debut in November 1997. The group's most recent tour, "Destiny Fulfilled... And Lovin' It" World Tour, presented by McDonald's, included Destiny Child's first full-length concert appearances in North America in four years. During the group's performance in Barcelona on June 11, 2005, Beyonci Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams announced that they would be retiring as Destiny's Child and moving forward to pursue personal goals and individual careers in music, theater, television and film.moreless
