  • Really funny

Joey missed out all his life on the fact that his dad isn't proud of him and is playing him for a fool.

His dad wanted him to take the family business: Plumber. He thinks that Joey looks down to his father.

This Joey has never aired in USA but it has aired in Europe. I can't believe NBC wants to stop Joey, They're not even giving a chance to the show to become something. I think that if NBC had let Joey run it's course, this show would have become a hit TV show has friends was in its timemoreless

Woh! I can\\\'t understand why is Joey cancelled, it is the best 20\\\' comedy now, every episode is good but... :S

This episode is very special because the show seems to be cancelled and at this moment Joey is gonna be a special actor in Hollywood world, with his own movie, but in fact he is the same Joey, our Joey, the long and slow evolution of his career, 10 season of friends and 2 from Joey is the reason that allow productors to finish the second season, it can\\\'t finish now!!!!! We need more Joey.. NBC

  • Last One it Seems!

I cant believe that this episode had the least amount of viewers ever, in fact origannaly it was only broard cast in ireland i think? I thought it was a half decent show, its a shame they axed it and of course right through the middle of season 2, i mean it will never be as good as friend\'s but the show itslef had alot of material to work with i\'m not sure what went wrong really, teh charactors were funny and this is joey were talking about who was in fact my favourite charactor in freinds. Its a big shame but this episode was ok.moreless
  • Joey flies his dad our first class to LA to attend the big premiere of Captured but his Dad doesn't seem at all interested in Joeys career or success. Also Joeys big billboard on Sunset blvd is right beside one featuring a near nude Carmen Electra much tomoreless

    6.0

this episode was broadcast on irish tv on RTE 2 last night the 11th of april 2006. Unfortunately it was a little too laugh free and played up too much of the schmaltz factor in Joeys relationship with his dad. his dad seems very unimpressed by all of Joeys recent successes. in fact he cant name a single thing that happened in deep powder or the name of the character joey played in Days Of Our Lives. Alex thinks this is terrible and keeps relating this to events in her own life which leads to a running "3 seconds" joke through the ep.

Meanwhile Joeys first big billboard on Sunset Blvd. ends up right beside a near nude billboard of Carmen Electra. This means she gets all the attention. Joeys attempts to seduce her are sidetracked by the fact that he can see her billboard from outside her window and he keeps imagining her as his dad!

All in all semi-enjoyable episode but far from a series best. New eps will continue to air in Ireland for the time being.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Joey: (to his dad) You think I look down on you, but it's the opposite. I used to walk through New York, point to buildings and say: "My dad did the plumbing in there. So if you use one of their bathrooms stand up before you flush, because that thing will turn you inside out!"

    • Bobbie: (about Joey's movie premiere) Are you excited?
Joey: Are you kidding me! I'm so worked up about this, today I woke up at noon!

    • Joey: Have you seen the billboard?
Bobbie: Of course. The whole town is talking about it, I mean how hot does Carmen Electra look.
Joey: No, my billboard! It's right next to hers.
Bobbie: How did I miss it. I was driving down Sunset, staring at Carmen, and I realised I'd driven up on the sidewalk. And then... I hit something and I sure hope it was a mannequin 'cause it split in half.

    • (Bobbie is wearing a really tight dress to the premiere)
Bobbie: Joey, I'm gonna need your jacket.
      Joey: Why?
Bobbie: I just Incredible Hulked the back of my dress.

    • Alex: Hey, What's wrong with your dad. He got a problem with Joey?
Gina: I don't know what's going on with him lately. Every time Joey's name comes up, he gets all grumpy.
Alex: Oh, well that's not right. This is a huge night for Joey. He flew him out here. Uhhh. Just like my mom when I graduated from law school.
      Gina: 3 seconds.
      Alex: What?
Gina: 3 seconds before you made it about you.

  • NOTES (5)

    • Carmen Electra continues her role from the Season 1 episode Joey and the Temptation. In the Joeyverse Carmen is single, but at the time of this episode she was still married to Dave Navarro.

    • This episode and all the episode after never aired in the U.S.

    • With the start of this episode finally airing, it was Joey's countdown to goodbye since the show had been cancelled. All remaining episodes aired for the rest of the summer.

    • Robert Constanzo (Joey Sr.) also appeared in the season 1 episode "The One With The Boobies" of Friends. He and Matt LeBlanc (Joey) are the only actors that played the same character in both shows.

  • ALLUSIONS (4)

    • Bobbie says that the whole not eating thing is killing her, and at least when Ghandi did it he didn't have to sit through crap like Joey's movie.

Mohandas Ghandi is best known for starting the civil disobedience movement as a means of resisting tyranny. He famously organized and employed hunger strikes, going on long fasts as part of social protests. He died in 1948 at the age of 78, and is now considered the father of the nation of India.

    • Alex says that in 10th grade she played Maria in Westside Story.

Westside Story is a re-imagining of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet set to music for Broadway, which has run since 1957. It revolves around the love story and familial woes of Tony and Maria. It is also a book and has been made into a movie.

    • Joey Sr. says that he needs to be home in time to have a beer before Leno because it helps him get the jokes.

Leno is a reference to Jay Leno who has hosted The Tonight Show after Johnny Carson since 1992. Aside from his interviews with celebrities, Leno is known for his observational humor and monologues.

    • Bobbie says she Incredible Hulked the back of her dress. The Incredible Hulk is a character created by Stan Lee and is a property of Marvel Comics. It has spawned a television show and two movies in addition to its numerous comics. One of the trademarks of the Hulk is that when he changes, his clothes shred off.
