The Valentine's Day Massacre is the name given to to the events surrounding the death of seven people in Chicago in 1929. The conflict took place between two rival mob gains. The seven people were lined up against a wall and executed, hence being given the name massacre.

Bobbie: Now listen, Joey. The interview portion is later. Judy Wilson's gonna meet you on the set. Now she's single, which is good, but she's smart, which could kill us. You need to come off as a great guy. I mean, really charm her! Joey: (trying to show his charm) Well, I can give it a shot, sweetheart. Bobbie: (laughs) Oh come on, get serious! Joey: Bobbie, will you relax? Look, I will handle the interview. Okay? By the time I'm done with her, she's gonna want to put me on the cover. There's a new stud in town. (picks up the latest edition of People magazine and looks at the cover) So move over Robert Blake's Legal Nightmare.
Bobbie: Oh, Joey. Laughter really is the best medicine, and that story just cleared up my hepatitis.
Alex: When my mother was my age, she had three kids. All I have is a husband who's away all the time. Last week, a squirrel snuck into our apartment and I thought it was Eric coming home to surprise me. I put on lingerie for a squirrel!
Alex: I mean, would you look at all these suckers out celebrating this Hallmark holiday? My husband and I don't need this kind of thing. Though, a card would've been nice. Or a phone call. Or an e-mail, perhaps. But we spoke on Tuesday. He asked me to gather up his receipts - tax time's comin'!

At the time of this episode, he had been undergoing legal woes for years; trying to combat allegations of killing his wife in 2001. He was acquitted later in 2005. The trial and details were widely followed and reported in the news and other media.
Joey says that his mom is going to be so excited about him being in People, and if he can just get into a Playboy then his dad can read about him too. Playboy Magazine is a widely circulated men's magazine that leans toward erotic imagery. While it is often considered an excuse, Playboy publishes journalistic articles on topics ranging from politics to social issues. They do interviews with public figures from all walks of life and often publish stories by famous authors that are written specifically for Playboy.

Gina calls Alex Keith Richards. Keith Richards is a member of the very popular band The Rolling Stones. There are legendary rumors about his drug use and capacity to drink alcohol.
Alex says when she makes love to her husband she thinks about Noah Wyle. Gina then questions Alex's choice; saying that she could see Clooney, or Eriq La Salle, or even 'that new Indian chick'. Noah Wyle is one of the original stars of the hit medical drama ER, as are George Clooney and La Salle. The 'Indian chick' Gina is referring to is Parminder Nagra, who was a more recent addition to the cast.
